I will never return to this KOA!!! Our daughter just moved to Traverse City area with her family. So we went to visit her in our fifth wheel at this KOA, hoping that this would be the campground we could use when visiting them. Wrong! They are not friendly at all. On arrival we stated that our daughter might stop by, the rude “lady” at the desk says, it’s $5.00 a person whether they come for 5 minutes or 5 hours. Which I get it, but when all the amenities are closed down for the season that campgrounds would change their policy for times off season. But she was very rude about. The other reason we will not go there is the prices for the campground are very high. We paid $86.00 a night in off season for a gravel site. We looked into another very nice campground after that for $65.00 which we will be going to from here on.
We had a great 2 night stay with our young kids. Fun playground for the kids, easy after hours check-in, super clean cabin and bathrooms. We will definitely be back.
Our family had a lovely visit this summer- the new owners have made welcome improvements including adding outdoor patios and hiring welcoming staff. A great base camp for exploring Traverse City and the local attractions. On site activities were also a hit. Look forward to returning next year.
They've continued to expand and improve this park since we were here several years ago. It's clean, well laid out, level and mostly shaded except the newest sites (although trees are planted). Great location for visiting Traverse City, and far enough out to relax at end of day. M37 highway does have a pretty constant traffic noise, but most sites are set back from it. WiFi is surprisingly good. Staff was professional and friendly. Bathrooms were clean, but showing age and they're about big enough where adding a second bath house would be a good idea. We really liked their nightly text reminding about the beginning of quiet hours. One of the better KOAs we've stayed at on an extended RV trip. Highly recommended.
A great campground. Heated pool, activities for the kids. Campsites are spacious and easy to get a camper into. The road is a main route to Traverse City, so I would recommend getting a site toward the middle or back. Every staff member is helpful and friendly! They even delivere pizza and wood to your site and pick up your trash for you! Nice playground huge jump pad for the kids. Pet friendly with a nice little dog park. Some amenities are a little dated and they are going through some construction at the moment, but still a great place to get away to. I would definitely recommend if you are looking for something in the Traverse City Area, without being right in the city.
Nice KOA. Super friendly staff and awesome, clean cabins. No microwave in the cabin, just a fridge. Which was great for us. They are currently expanding it, so I anticipate it will look even nicer later. Lots of care put into making it cute and clean. Too cold on our weekend to try the pool, but mini golf was a hit. Kids enjoyed completing a scavenger hunt for a feee slushy! We were there in an “off weekend” so there weren’t any extra activities and the camp store/office closed at 5 every day. That was a bit disappointing. Also, be aware they don’t have a basketball hoop anywhere. There is, however, a pretty cool RC car bmx style race track, so bring your outdoor friendly RC’s and leave the basketball at home! Great playground and Gaga pit right by the little dog park.
Worst experience ever staying at the KOA this year. Prices were as much as it was to stay in a hotel. Customer service was horrible was told I could camp with friends but then called back again and was told that there was an additional $25 fee in order to reserve a spot. When I checked in, they had canceled my reservation and then were able to give me my reservation back. But when I had to pay the remainder balance they tried telling me that it wasn’t paid even after I showed them. It went through on my bank account. Also, with them Expanding the new lots weren’t completed and looked like a sand pit and smelled Like poo every time the wind blew. Would not recommend
Great place for families and pets! Wonderful staff and tons of activities to do! Very clean and service was extremely helpful! Definitely will be back!
Thanks to the friendly staff and the lovely place. The location is a bit far out, but it's truly in the heart of the forest and offers a calm and quiet atmosphere.
