Travis FamCamp Office Introduce

The Travis FamCamp Office is located at 201 Travis Ave, Travis AFB, CA 94535, and falls under the Campgrounds & RV Parks category. As this facility is situated on a military installation, access and eligibility for camping are typically restricted to military personnel (active duty, retired, reserve), Department of Defense civilians, and their eligible dependents. It is essential to verify eligibility and access procedures with Travis FamCamp directly before planning a visit.

Based on recent customer reviews, the environment, services, and features of Travis FamCamp appear to have mixed feedback:

  • Environment: One review describes the FamCamp as not being well-maintained, with unmowed areas and an appearance more akin to a "trailer park" with permanent residents and "nasty trailer." There are mentions of "lots of dogs in fences" and "cats roaming freely." The dog park is described as overgrown with tree cutting piles. Conversely, another reviewer expresses feeling safe at the FamCamp and appreciates the quiet environment despite proximity to base operations, noting minimal noise disruption with basic white noise.
  • Services: The reviews provide limited direct information about specific services offered by the FamCamp itself. However, one positive aspect highlighted is the access to various Travis AFB base amenities, including the Library, BX (Base Exchange), base dog park, commissary, and cheaper gas. This suggests that eligible campers can benefit from the facilities available on the Air Force Base. The negative review implies potential issues with enforcement of rules.
  • Features: Features mentioned in the reviews include:
    • Access to Base Amenities: Eligible personnel can access the Library, BX, base dog park, commissary, and cheaper gas on Travis AFB.
    • Dog Park: A dog park is available, although its condition is described as overgrown in one review.
    • Permanent Residents: The presence of long-term campers is noted, which may influence the overall atmosphere.
    • Security: One reviewer explicitly states feeling safe at the FamCamp.

Promotional information for military FamCamps is not typically advertised to the general public. Any available discounts or special rates would likely be communicated directly to eligible personnel through military channels or the FamCamp management.

For local users in US who may be eligible (e.g., retired US military personnel), to obtain detailed and accurate information about the current environment, specific services and features offered at Travis FamCamp, eligibility requirements, reservation procedures, and any applicable fees or regulations, it is crucial to contact the Travis FamCamp Office directly at (707) 424-3583 or +1 707-424-3583. Due to the conflicting nature of the reviews regarding the campground's condition and atmosphere, direct inquiry is highly recommended to get the most up-to-date and accurate information.

Please note that experiences at military FamCamps can vary, and it is advisable to seek current information directly from the Travis FamCamp Office to make an informed decision.

Worst fam camp I've stayed at. We have been traveling the US and have stayed at many military fam camps. This one is not mowed. Rules are not followed. It's more of a trailer park with permanent campers and a nasty trailer. E6 military members are paid $3k a month BHA are taking advantage of tax payers by renting spots long term and living here. Lots of dogs in fences. Cats roaming freely. Dog park has tree cutting piles up and overgrown.

Very grateful to have access to Travis FamCamp. I was worried plane noise or gate road noise would make day sleeping hard, honestly, haven't heard much with just basic white noise on in my RV. Have loved access to Library, BX, base dog park, commissary and cheaper gas! After 4 years of RV lofe, this has been the safest I've felt in my RV😁

I have had a great experience staying here. They allow much longer stays than civilian campgrounds, have shaded campsites, 50 and 30 amp sites, and the staff are super friendly and helpful.

The lawns are all dead, the field next to the park is green. An old manager trailer needs to go, big eyesore. The park needs a manager. I have stayed at the park many times over the yrs, and it needs help.

The staff was super helpful and nice! I wish the sites were paved but other than that it's been a decent stay.

The campgrounds are very nice especially the front ones called “Horseshoe.” The grounds are maintained fairly well!

We are very happy with this FamCamp. It's conveniently located (walking distance to the School, BX, Class Six, Commissary, Starbucks, Burger King, and Parks). There are lots of trees and the place is clean. Every RV site has a concrete pad. They stay on residents to clean up after pets. It's quiet (with the exception of gate traffic and planes taking off sporadically). I have no complaints. They upped the rate to $22 per night, but still a steal considering it includes water, electric, and free cable. Washers & Dryers available (3 of each). There are also clean community showers & restrooms. They also have a water station to refill 5 gallon jugs of filtered water. Wish we could stay longer than 90 days at a time!
