Not the best campground we've been to. Does have access to river from a small rafting launch, other than that river access is rather difficult. Rattlesnakes are plentiful so be mindful.... Restrooms were clean, vault style. Campgrounds are a good size, spread out, and water is available. Wish it had more access points to river without going through a bunch of overgrowth, like a jungle...bummer... Water at luanch was nice but swift current.
It was very clean and reasonably priced right next to the Klamath River. Pit tolets, no sinks. Water spigots placed through campgrounds. I would stay here again
This visit was awesome! The water was warm, lots of weeds in the flow yet no patches to walk through & the current was strong but the water is not very deep; I am 5'7" & even 25 feet from the shore was waist high. The wind gave us a chill & I advise wearing water shoes because there's lots of rocks. All other river goers & the few campers we came in contact with were friendly, dogs on leashes & no one was drinking excessively or being loud. There are restrooms, bbq pits, picnic tables, horseshoe pits (bring your own horseshoes), looked like volleyball or badminton could be played if you brought a net & equipment...and of course camping spaces for a fee, day use is free (that we could discern) Kids enjoyed themselves & now we know for future reference it's here & closer than Jones Beach. Drive safely & enjoy the beautiful scenery 😊
Beautiful quiet place for camping, kayaking, hiking. Ranger Kelly is very nice, helpful and she keeps the place clean. Ask Kelly to show you their local unique wood rat nest, we found it quite interested:) I truly enjoyed my morning green tea with the view of fresh green grass, flowers, hills and with the undisturbed sound of flowing spring river. Mid June weather made it just perfect! Highly recommend:)
This campsite is tucked away right along the Kalamath River with so much shade, you might not even need an EZ up. The camp host has pre chopped wood disbursed around the site for campers to use. I couldn't believe this place was only $15 a night with free firewood and river access. If you are into river rafting or kayaking, it is a great place to stay to start your trek. My biggest complaint were these pesky gnats and no matter what kind of bug spray, how much you stood in the smoke by the fire... They would not freakin leave us alone. Otherwise, incredibly beautiful place to camp!
