Love this place our kids have grown up here. The gental man that takes care of this place is very nice. Yes it’s a little ways back from the highway but close enough to town to get anything you need. We have meet a lot of nice people over the 20 plus years we have camped here. Best thing about the Friends of the Bayou is now we get watch our granddaughter grow up here to.
I live in Arizona now, but reminiscing. Camped here growing up, and near the Mississippi. Used to take Sunday drives to this place in the fall. Very peaceful camping spot. Recommend
Primitive camping with portajohn access. Beautiful location, donation based camping. Really wish more could be done with it.
I give a 4 star because I feel like it needs to be mowed more than what it gets but other than that it's a nice little area!
Nice campground inside the Shawnee National Forest. 19 sites with picnic table, fire ring, and lantern pole. Free for up to 14 day stay.
