Abandoned park. Assume dispersed camping. All facilities and garbage cans are destroyed. Broken glass on many parking spots from beer bottles and windows. For a 104° Saturday, we cleaned up our strip of beach and had the place to ourselves until some others arrived. From my last visit a couple years ago, it’s day and night. If you want a good spot, I suggest you clean up for it and pack out your trash.
Please please please someone help me get this place open again. It’s just rotting away and it’s still got so much potential. It looks like the forest service gave up on it because MORONS destroyed windows and spray painted a lot of stuff. It’s such a nice spot I’m more than willing to go clean up a lot, if somebody else has a window guy maybe that would want to get in on this. Maybe somebody that has a few doors available. Me and my son can collect trash which is ALOTTT. We picked up as much as we could when we stayed here last night. Someone please help bring this place back to life. Maybe if we get a small group of people we can make something huge happen and the forest service will care about it again! Comment on here if you’re interested. We live on the road but would be happy to come back and meet helpers at any time. It’s got it’s own beach and everything!!! Lots of grills and fire rings. Bathrooms. Not working right now but they’re there. Such nice views all around. LOTS of parking space.
I've lived in the area for over 20 years and we didn't even know that the lake existed in our backyard. That's what happens when you're always commuting to work. Needless to say, I found this lake by chance when my grandsons came to visit and wanted to go swimming. I am so glad we did. The lake was beautiful, clean and felt safe. 💪🏖🏊♂️ A win win for all of us.
This is by far the best lake in the area. Clean, not as crowded, lots of watercraft play. There is fishing although I was not so lucky 😉. Dogs are allowed on leash and poo bags are provided at the many available restrooms. Overall great experience.
Beautiful place as well as perfect for those who like quite and calm. Kids who loves water activities gonna love the place.
