One of the best FREE camping sites I've been to! Not too far from town. There is a host, so the upkeep is really good, and there are posted rules and such. Go early and pick camp spot #12 toward the back because it has a nice view of Mt. Princeton and the Arkansas River below. It is also not as close to other campsites as there is only one next to you. You're welcome!

This is a great place to stop and camp near the Arkansas river. Turtle rock has a lot of natural rock scenery around and good climbing. Sites are large and clean, with a fire pit and picnic table each. Multiple bathroom facilities. Dogs must be leashed. About 20+ locations first come first serve. The on site hosts are very welcoming and friendly.

FREE CAMPING. This is a great place to visit and stay. Climb the big turtle Rock or drive the awesome trails all around. The camp host is super friendly and keeps this place looking great. Cleanup after yourself and leave it better than you found it!

Great host with nice campsites. The pit toilets were clean. The main loop has verizon service as does site 12. The access road had some washboard, but relatively easy to avoid. Will definitely stay here again.
