I just tent camped on site 32, Twitley Branch campground. The views are amazing! I didn’t have anyone next to me until my last night. No biggie, the campers are so nice and quiet. Site 32 is across from a toilet only bathroom (pit toilets) and a playground Cons: there was trash all over the site! I get that items fly about in the wind but the amount of cigarette butts and beer tabs are uncalled for. If bathrooms are required, the only shower house is a drive from either loop. Pros: gorgeous lake view sites for $20/night or $10 with senior discount. Quiet, friendly environment Wooded with plenty of shade Clean restrooms Grass is cut and maintained. Friendly camp hosts
Twiltley Branch Campground, Collinsville MS We spent one night here but we arrived early enough to walk the roads and camp loops by the lake. There didn’t seem to be any designated hiking trails. There is a boat dock and this state park attracts boaters. The restrooms with showers were located between the camping loops and were a bit of a walk although there is parking if one drives. They were clean. Our site had electricity and water for just $20/ night ! And we were on the lake and had a beautiful view out the windows @ sunrise.
Great spacious sites for travel trailers on the lake. Only 1 shower house with 2 showers and it is not convenient to sites. Pit toilet building is closer to sites. Water and electric hookup. Dump station available. You can’t beat the sites and views for only $20/night.
I was surprised to hear from the campground host on the morning of my arrival. 😲She called to tell me that my space was available. 🤳🏻That's never happened to me anywhere.🤩 This is a very large property with quite a distance between the two loops and the boat ramp and the tent section. Definitely a drive or a bike ride.🚲 I was in the lower number loop. Which is inundated with debris and pine needles.🫣 The higher number loop is more open and more appealing. It seems to have a higher concentration of oak trees 🎋rather than these nasty pine🌲 trees. There's absolutely no maintenance here. Nobody picks up trash.🗑️ I'm always picking up scattered bits from people.😣 Nobody cleans out the fire pits.🔥 That's usually the very least one would expect 🤷🏻♂️ Each of these sites has 30 🔌and 50a ⚡and 💦 water. Unique to this property are a couple of street lights.💡 Typically there's no night time lighting at COE Parks. 🫣 If you are lucky enough to get site 65 there are three of them right there with their own private pavilion and an area to beach ⛱️ your boats! It's quite nice for a group thing 🙌🏻 There are two beach areas. One within the tent area that has no facilities. And then a huge one with a giant parking lot in the Okatibbee Day Use area. That one does have restroom 🚻 facilities (2) and 2 more much needed to be updated playgrounds. 🫣 It's a tremendously large area. Parking for hundreds of cars. There's also a boat ramp. A pavilion. And several picnic areas.. It can be a bit confusing. It's called Twitley Branch Road, but Twiltley Branch Campground.🫢
Oh, man. This campground was very nice. Very well manicured no trash for me to even pick up. The campground host were also very smiley and kind. There are water stickers at each site. Even in the primitive area. I shall return next year for sure.
