Had a blast at Twin Anchors! Very accommodating. Very family oriented. Loved the petting zoo and the people. Wi definitely return.
We are presently in an RV, so that's is why no comments on rooms. The people there are wonderful :-) The price is small for what you get, the grounds are beautiful and it is nice and quiet. The trees are majestic and the petting zoo was a great moment for us to enjoy, Donkey, Rabbit, Sheep, goats, Pot belley pigs, Mini horses. Wow a real family owned place for a family price. Thank you we really enjoyed our stay. Ho I forgot the little store with restaurant and the ice cream :-).
My girlfriend and I decided to check it out in hopes to camp here next weekend and the place looked beautiful but a guy stopped us and started cursing my girlfriend out because we were apparently going too fast, mind you there was kids zipping around on golf carts and we didn't go over 5mph because we were looking at the scenery and had to keep driving off the road so we didn't get hit by careless golf cart drivers. I don't know where a 40 year old man gets off cussing out and screaming at a 19 year old girl and a baby in the back seat but I would extremely recommend staying away from this place. It is not kid friendly. The people were nice and friendly until he yelled at us then everyone became really nasty and had an extremely cultish vibe, a couple of people even flipped us the bird when we were leaving.
It was a bad experience at this campground. Weekend camping spots are not the best, even trying to get to them was a joke. Roads (if you want to call them), were horrible. Noisy, kids driving golf carts everywhere, not paying attention, being unsupervised. Loud music playing all day and part of the night. Basketball playing at 1:00am playing loud music. Seasonal camp sites are rundown and very crowded. If you need to spend a weekend there, look somewhere else!
We camp here every summer & have always enjoyed our stay. This last stay was not so great. The beach was dirty with garbage all over. There’s only a handful of loungers which are dirty & in poor condition. The area with the animals also is run down. There’s worn out wood, broken cement right along where you stand to interact with the animals. Two of my three children fell & got hurt while standing in this area. Also there is no parental supervision. We played at the lake & playground where kids are running around cussing & fighting. These same kids are also driving golf carts around with no adults. These kids all appear to be under 10. We watched one boy drive into a camper with four other kids on the golf cart who were younger then himself. The trash cans were overflowing our entire stay. Fireworks going off at midnight. Yelling & screaming until 2AM. Not a family friendly location to camp. Appears everyone is there to get drunk & pay no attention to their children. Will find a new location for our next camping trip. There was a group of kids who found baby turtles in the lake - they had them on the playground, we’re throwing them around & one got jumped on. Where are your parents?
Nice place. We came to visit a Friend. Looks like a nice place to camp
