This is a beautiful campground with many trees , owner is very kind and accommodating. It has newly renovated pool with deck jets. Kids loved it . Can’t wait to go back .
Stayed here Labor Day weekend. Beautiful campground and well maintained. Pool was cold, although it was suppose to be heated. We reserved a cabin and 2 additional tent sites. The cabin was comfortable and clean. The sites were clean but on the smaller side compared to other campgrounds we have stayed at. What I didn’t like about our 3 night stay was 1. The owner questioned my daughter and boyfriend when they went into the store about another site that happened to be ours too. We were not aware that we couldn’t have 2 tents on a site although you are allowed to have 6 people per site. They were also questioned about the cars. Two cars are allowed on each site ( which is almost damn near impossible with the size of the sites) so we parked one of our cars on her my daughter’s site. Mind you they never came to me. My daughter comes back upset and tells me what happened. I go into the store. Was informed that I have to pay $25 a night for the additional tent and a day pass for the car that was parked on the wrong site! Absolutely ridiculous about the car because we are didn’t have too many cars, they were just scattered between our 3 sites! So fast forward. Later that day my other teenager daughter goes into the store to purchase something. The owner refused to sell her anything until she tells her what site # they were on. She didn’t know so she came back to me! At that point I decided I would not give the owner anymore of my money and took her down the road to purchase what she needed. Finally the last day. Our family was just hanging out playing yard games etc and I noticed this man behind a tree staring at us. I continued to watch him he eventually walked towards the office. Later that evening he walks past our sites and I asked him if he works here? He says no and giggles walks away. Next morning, we go to checkout and surprise surprise look who we see! The guy that was spying on us behind the counter! It’s sad because like I said at the beginning of this review, beautiful campground but I would never come back. Now I know why it was so empty during a holiday weekend.
We stayed here with The Cycle Conservation Club of Michigan as part of the Six Days of Michigan annual event. They were very accommodating of our large group. With so many people checking in at nearly the same time, it was impressive how well they handled the influx. The pool was great, and there are a lot of on-site activities that would be great for families. Our club made use of the spacious pavilion during our stay as well. We are already considering returning… either by ourselves our possibly arranging a family stay.
Beautiful wooded campground with lots of nice sites. The bath houses and pool are clean and updated. My kids loved the mini golf. Ice cream and mini golf were cheap, bring a little cash. Also horseshoe pits, shuffle board, rubber duck racing and a play ground. I felt comfortable letting my boys ride their bikes around the camp ground and make friends. Cars go slow and traffic minimal. Whippoorwill birds could be heard at night. We loved our stay and will definitely return!
WE came in mid-august as a one-night stop on our way south. We needed electricity and a shower. We got a camp spot with electricity only. I thought $55 was a bit much as we had stopped at a campground that was $50 for a full hook-up on our way north. The campground was sparsely populated, which surprised us. We had stopped there a few years ago and it was nearly full. The host told us their busy month was July. The grounds were shady and there were a lot of things for kids to do. Anyway, we found our spot. It was close to flat, easy to level our camper trailer. At first we couldn't find our electric outlet but then realized it was kind of far away. We had to borrow an extra cord to reach it. I went to the shower. It was perfectly clean. Also the water pressure was excellent. The only minor complaint I had is that the showers were a bit small; I had to hold my elbows to my sides or I felt like they would hit the walls. But I am not a small person. All in all, a good stop and I would definitely camp there again.
What a wonderful experience we had at Twin Bears! The new owners are wonderful. From the moment we arrived, they were super friendly and accommodating. We were short a couple of camping supplies and what we needed was either available in the store or lent to us free of charge. The kids thoroughly enjoyed the large playground, movie nights and other outdoor adventures. The camp sites offer full hook ups while still offering a remote and private feel with plenty of trees around. The bath houses looked to be newly renovated and were immaculately cleaned our entire stay. We can’t wait to come back again for another stay!
The new owners are wonderful! They have only owned it for 5 weeks or so! Super helpful and always around to make sure everyone one is happy and having a wonderful time. The most impressive part is the playground and kids area! It's massive with many different play sets to help entertain the family. The night we were there most of the campground had a mini baseball game going! That's how family friendly this place is! Not to mention dog friendly with great rules to keep everyone safe and clean. Strongly recommend to anyone wanting a relaxing stay with family close to fun!
Twin Bears Wooded Campground was absolutely delightful! The hosts were friendly and helpful in every way imaginable. The bathhouse was extremely clean and well maintained. The grounds are peaceful and the it’s the perfect place to camp and relax! Book now so you can enjoy your spot soon!
New owners are so nice! They truly care about giving visitors the best experience possible. They came by before dark and checked on my family and made sure they had everything they needed. (I was at a memorial service nearby) My wife really appreciated that. Thank you for working so hard to bring this campground back in business! Look forward to visiting again soon.
My husband and I booked one of the rustic cabins for Memorial Day weekend and we absolutely enjoyed every bit of our stay there. The cabin was super clean as were the bathrooms and showers near the cabin. Extremely family friendly campground with a huge playground area for kids. We are already planning to stay next Memorial Day we enjoyed it so much there.
