  • "Went December 8th, lake was iced enough to walk and fish on, saw a couple tents at 3pm when I got there. Don't know how many people in the morning. Definitely a dirt road getting lakeside, really appreciated the bathrooms. No trash cans so be sure not to litter! Very little wind, just that chilly winter air when the sun sets right at 4pm, beautiful sunset, super peaceful against the mountains. Will be back in the spring to check out fishing on a kayak!"

Free camping...big trout. Perfect spot if the wind isn't blowing and mosquitoes aren't hatching. If it's hot on the plains ...drive west along Hwy 130 to higher altitude, more shade and less bugs.
