Customer Reviews
Stayed at Twin Knobs campground at Cave Run on Labor Day weekend and couldn’t have picked a better location. Entire park was well maintained and our site was spacious and clean upon arrival. Bathrooms and showers were a good size and kept clean all weekend. Loved the trails around the lake. We also took a kayaking trip nearby one day and had the best time. We met Karen on our first day there and she was so friendly. Upon departure we then met Jeri at a gas station who is the General Manager and she was friendly and informative in regards to other campgrounds that the property group also manages. So thankful to have found this little gem that is close to home and meet such friendly people!
Camped seven nights and really enjoyed the site and the campground overall. We were in loop C, and walked with our dogs all the loops several times. Also enjoyed the lake trail and the trail that went up one of the knobs. Bathrooms were always clean. They are also individual, designed for one person, once you close the main door you are alone. Showers are the same. The lake is clean, one of our dogs jumped in and afterwards never suffered the "wet dog" smell.
So this is a National Forest Service property managed by Vista Corporation. It's a large 200+ space campground with free hot showers, beach, boat launch, day use, ball fields, volleyball courts, amphitheater and multiple easy hiking trails. There's also an RV dump station. The Vista team member at the front gate was confused by my America the Beautiful lifetime Seniors Pass, after a phone call to Vista Corporate, they allowed me to enter day use fee free. Parking is plentiful and large enough for any size rig or RV. There are multiple flush toilet bathrooms about the property but all were locked except the ones in the campground. The beachside general store was also closed. I had 3 bars of Verizon 4G LTE Roaming. Leashed dogs are welcome.
Stayed a weekend in June this year 2024 with my son and his wife and had the best time. The first night we had people across that was really nosey but the next day they made them live. After that is was really quiet peaceful place. Showers was very clean and nice. The bathrooms was also very nice and clean. The campground was very nice it was also clean. Only problem was whenever we arrived they couldn't find us or are spot we had to pull to the side and wait. But we had reserved the spot so I didn't understand what was the deal. But over all it was really great. Nice walking trails. Even if the trails could of been wider. Cause sometimes it was hard to pass each other on them. Just was a nice lake. Beach was amazing and so clean. So was the lake.
The campsites are a decent size. The fire rings are really nice and high. The bathrooms and showers were very clean. The beach area is fairly big. We enjoyed camping here and will definitely be back.
