Great campground for peace and quiet. Liked site 8...1 cell bar with at&t. Ha..Ha..
Excellent small campground for those who want peace and quiet. Campground was clean, very quiet, and the camp host (James) was Excellent. Beautiful small lakes and all the campsites were pretty secluded from the neighbor sites. I went in mid-Sept and was lucky not to have many mosquitos at all. Road to get there turns into loose gravel for about three miles before you enter the campground (campground road is paved), so motorcyclists on touring bikes should be aware. Vault toilets were probably the cleanest I've come across when camping. Had Verizon service in most of the campground, which was a pleasant surprise. Last note, watch for poison ivy, it's everywhere.
I would 200% recommend this campground for anyone and everyone. There are bathrooms close, no matter where you stay. Nice small campground off the beaten path. The lake is great. Kinda mucky bottom but it didn't deter my kids they swam for hours. They have aeration in the lake for the fish. Heard there was decent fishing but didn't do any fishing ourselves. Nice sized sites and didn't seem to be right on top of each other. Listened to the frogs all night long. Definitely bring thermacells or some sort of bug deterrent, the horse flies were pretty bad. My kids had a blast and we will be back many more times for sure! Also at the turn around there is a short little path to the second lake/pond. Was a gorgeous place to just take it all in and listen to the birds, frogs and fish.
Twin Lakes Campground offers both reservable and first come, first served sites. The campground is clean, well maintained, and some sites provide direct access to the lake, making it a great choice for a relaxing outdoor stay.
Campground is rustic. Pit toilets but there is a water spigot for fresh water. Roadway is paved. Pics on the National Campground site is deceiving. The sites on the water do not give a great view of water except site 8, 12 & 13. Water access from sites nearly impossible because of plant growth on shoreline. There is a boat landing. No beach. On the positive side, great place for canoe or kayakers. Fishing is fantastic. Hiking trails very close to campground. Nice and quiet place. Very secluded. Camp host very friendly and very knowledgeable about area.
