Decent parking lot, at the trail entrance there is a picnic table and a bulletin board with the entire list of rules for the area. The beginning trail is average size but leads to a larger trail the size of a one way dirt road, at this intersection there is a garbage can "it was over flowing on my visit". The trails are marked with yellow paint on the tree, it took me approximately 6 minutes to make it to the first river side campsite " I didn't have any camping gear just a camera" and approximately another 4 minutes down the trail to get to the second river side campsite. Each camp site had a picnic table "old tables, and wobbly but better than nothing" the second camp site had a fire ring. Both campsites were nice looking and you can have a line in the water while camping and cook your catch right at the campsite. This is as very easy hike if you’re looking for a quick primitive camping area.
When people respect the trail, and don't litter it's absolutely gorgeous. Two places to camp along the trail that's just under a mile. Great for a walk, hike or jog by the Withlacoochee river. Good place to see nature, fish and relax.

Booking is now done on reserve america website it's free to camp but 6.70 paid to site online. Quick fyi no longer get permit from management. Check in at 3pm check out at 1pm. Right on water it is a 1/2 walk so w dolly everything in! Save your strength. Rope swings have been removed another fyi. No restrooms on site so bring your portopotty bucket. Lots of area to move around and plenty of hiking in woods & near water. You can hear local traffic Hope this helps!
Just finished a weekend here. Beautiful place. Far enough away from everyone that you have some privacy but, also enough foot traffic that you aren't totally alone out there. Camp site seemed to be decently maintained. Keep in mind that it is primitive so remember your water and shovel!
