U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Fall Creek Campground Introduce

Nestled at the end of a steep, blacktopped country road, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Fall Creek Campground offers a secluded and tranquil camping experience. Located on a small peninsula surrounded by water where Fall Creek meets Lake Cumberland, this 9-10 site campground provides a peaceful setting for nature enthusiasts and campers seeking serenity. The sites are well-maintained with gravel bases, shade, and level terrain, ideal for those looking to disconnect and recharge.

While the campground is not particularly large rig friendly due to tight spaces and limited maneuvering room, it offers basic yet reliable services including electric and water hookups. The dump station, though challenging to access, ensures waste management needs are met. The proximity to the boat ramp is convenient for boating enthusiasts, but visitors should note that parking spots are limited.

Customer feedback highlights both the campground's strengths and areas for improvement. Many guests praise the quiet atmosphere during weekdays, especially in mid-August when boat traffic subsides. The cleanliness of the facilities and the friendliness of the hosts have also been well-received. However, some visitors note the lack of Wi-Fi, wood for sale, and ice on-site, which could be drawbacks for those expecting more amenities.

  • Peaceful Environment: A serene retreat with stunning views of Fall Creek and Lake Cumberland.
  • Small, Intimate Setting: Ideal for campers seeking a quiet and secluded experience with limited sites available.

If you're looking to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Fall Creek Campground offers a perfect opportunity to unwind and connect with nature. While it may not be suitable for large vehicles or those expecting extensive amenities, its charm lies in its simplicity and natural beauty.

Beautiful small (9 or 10 sites) campground located at the end of a peninsula, at the end of a somewhat steep, blacktopped country road. Surrounded on three sides by water where Fall Creek meets Lake Cumberland. The sites are tight, with not a lot of maneuvering room. I'm going to say that this campground is not really big rig friendly. We pulled our 27 ft 5th wheel in and went back and forth a lot to get into our site. Fortunately, since all the other sites were vacant, we were able to utilize the other sites as maneuvering room. The dump station is really difficult to get into too! Pull forward, back up hill, sharp angle. Sites are electric and water only. Gravel base, lots of shade, level. Very well kept and clean. We were there on a Tues night in mid-August, other than the hosts and a tent, it was empty and so so quiet. On the weekends in the summer, expect a LOT of boat noise as this is a very popular "party" lake with tons of boat traffic. I live here, so I know how it is. We don't even go anywhere on the lake on a Saturday it's just so crazy. Stray cats wandering around. Kind of sad. 1 bar on Verizon.

Excellent campground to get away and find some serenity. Only 9 campsites and all are pretty roomy. I can't see a 5th wheel getting in there very easily because of the turn around. Boat ramp is very close to campsites but there's only about 10 or so parking spots. Hookups are good, the bathroom and shower are good, but there's no Wi-Fi/Internet. No wood for sale and no ice. Would easily be a 5 star with WiFi, wood and ice.

Loved it! Very relaxing, clean, quiet...a great get away. Only complaint - the steep boat ramp. A difficult climb for many. The overall area was beautiful! The lake is clear and there are many coves to enjoy! Take note: we did find a scorpion at our site.

Fall Creek Recreation Area is a great place to launch a small boat, camp with your family or spend the day exploring the lake, having a picnic and letting the kids play.
