Clearwater big cabin is awesome. Make sure you pack in all of the water you need. Lots of room, lots of beds (bring bedding). No phone service or internet. Completely disconnected from the world.
A trailhead campsite with a view. I was out for a drive in a remote area of the Umatilla National Forest when I came upon Luger Spring Trailhead. It was a nice spot to camp with vault toilets, a picnic table and fire pit. It can easily hold one group of people. It's a little open and dry at some times of the year. I did not notice any sources for water. I don't think many people make it out here so if you like remote areas, this one is for you!
Respect Our National Forests! I love the freedom and beauty of spending time in our national forests, but it’s essential that we all treat these spaces with respect. Think of it like drinking by a pool—keep the bottles on dry land! If you’re bringing drinks, choose beer cans over glass bottles, and always take them home with you. When you’re enjoying the outdoors, leave the site cleaner than you found it. No one wants to see your trash, and certainly not your toilet paper from a late-night bathroom break! If we don’t keep these places clean, we risk losing access to these incredible natural gems. Let’s all do our part to keep our forests beautiful and accessible for generations to come. 🌲🍂
Love Umatilla! It's beautiful, dry woods. I stayed at Jubilee Lake which is a great campground. The site I had, #30, was huge! Very private. You can swim in the lake, kayak, paddleboard. There is a trail around the lake for hiking, partially paved. There are trails all throughout the forest you can drive to and lots of sno-parks.
Camped at Lake Jubilee for a week. Great campground. Dog friendly, walking trails, fishing, and kayaking on a man made lake. They have picnic tables at the sites and fire rings.
