Beautiful campground on the southern end of Lake Umbagog. Sites are generously spaced. Loons on the lake. Sweet store with ice cream, hats, and information, wood and ice. Beautiful marina and excellent access to Umbagog. Beautiful beach and picnic area. And beautiful, new bathrooms , laundry room, ... The flora and fauna are spectacular. We loved our stay!
I stayed at site number four for a week in september 2023. Site number 4 is completely unlevel. I have never had to Jack up the side of my trailer as much as I have at this site. (check out the picture). As you can see from the video, the bugs are intense. Intense! Bring bugnetting and bug screening. The showers are coin-operated and provide great water flow, but are expensive when compared to other new hamster state parks. There is good cell service at this park. I have AT&T and had 4G service with 4 bars. I spoke with others who had Verizon and they reported good service also. .
Hidden Gem! Remote sites are where it's at! Beautiful location! Just be aware if you need a boat shuttle they can be a little pricey, and they make you buy your firewood from them. Wish the wood was a bit dryer, it really didn't want to stay lit.
Beautiful view of Lake Umbagog, New bath house with toilets, showers ($.25/min) and laundry. Canoe and kayak rentals, well stocked camp store. Would definitely go back. 30 amp only with water at most sites, convenient dump station on the way out. Pets on leash are allowed. $35/night.
My family and I camp in Errol every summer during the 4th of July week. We come here to use their showers but always end up staying and relaxing on the beach. It's beautiful here as you can see!
This was my first time at Umbagog Lake State Park Campground. I was impressed! Danny, the maintenance guy, has done an amazing job building and updating doors and cabins. Drew, another team member, was constantly working on docks, organizing, getting things done, all in preparation for the season open. Ann Marie answered all my questions, shared history, gave clear guidance and, overall, made it very clear how much she valued every single team member. This place runs like a Swiss timepiece, smoothly and very efficiently. Cabins are situated to maximize views and while wildlife is abundant, the team does their best to minimize the poo associated with their presence. The cabins, the boats, the tools, the bathrooms, the docks...Everything is given the attention deserved in a state park. Quite frankly, I think it is the best one I have seen and I have been to MANY state parks around the country. And, to those who wonder, of course there are bugs, but goodness gracious, this team cleans constantly to rid all spaces of them and, duh, it's a CAMPGROUND, not your civilized home. This place is VERY well kept. I can't wait to bring my classmates here to enjoy it!!! And if you see this hat and or patch, please go up to them and thank them for the amazing job they are doing!
This is a very nice campground. There are 34 campsites with water and electric and 2 rental cabins. There are an additional 32 remote sites out on the lake. The remote sites are accessible by boat only and have compotible toilets, firerings and a table. Many have tent platforms. Very few remote sites are pet friendly. By the way, the lake is beautiful as well.
