Under Canvas Moab

I don't usually write reviews, but for Under Canvas I absolutely had to! My sister and I stayed at under canvas for two nights on a cross country road trip. From start to finish our stay and Under Canvas Moab was incredible. The staff texted us to see what time we would be arriving and greeted us upon arrival at the reception tent. Check-in was fast, easy and Dave was so friendly and personable. Instead of making guests to tote all their luggage from car to tent, the staff help you unload your car into a golf cart and drive you and your things right up to your tent! They will also pick you and your things back up at check out for an easy departure. The location is beautiful and just a short drive to Moab. The tent itself was beautiful, cozy, and very well maintained. I kid you not, their bedding was the best I've slept on in my life and I'm a bedding snob. They provide a battery pack with battery operated fan and lantern in the tent which can be swapped for a fresh one whenever the battery runs out. The bathrooms were exceptionally clean and fresh with plenty of towels and they clean them twice a day. We loved our stay so much we ended up staying at the Under Canvas Glacier location when our other reservation didn't work out. 10/10 will absolutely stay with them again. I will never run out of good things to say about Under Canvas.

The staff at Under Canvas Moab was friendly, responsive and knowledgeable. My husband and I stayed 3 nights on our trip which focused on hiking to dinosaur prints in the Moab area (which were great!!). The bed was very comfortable, shower was nice with plenty of hot/warm water, and the stars were incredible. The only down side is that the location is close to the highway and there is traffic noise, which dies down late in the evening. I highly recommend Under Canvas as a place to stay.

Under canvas was an absolute dream highly recommend to stay with either a family by yourself or as a couple. Jen, the front desk manager was absolutely adorable and really helped accommodate our stay in more ways than one with great information about arches where to get firewood, and I even left my necklace behind and she was able to save it for me to pick up on the back end of our trip highly recommend This place. You will not regret it!!

Very cool place and never stayed at a place quite like this. It’s a bit more rustic than I was expecting but not in a bad way at all. It’s basically a hotel room in a tent. What really makes this place stand out is the service. Amazingly friendly staff and they have a ton to offer at the main tent - grab and go food, coffee, water, coolers, ice, popsicles, even cold beer. And, there are two EV chargers right up front. To top it off, the bathrooms were super clean, private, and huge.

Great idea, but poorly executed. I felt misled about the tents’ ability to retain heat. They work—if you’re willing to get up every 20-30 minutes to feed the wood burner. Forget about being comfortable; you can’t even get a full night’s sleep. Despite bringing thick blankets and layering up, I woke up frozen within an hour, forced to constantly restart the fire. By morning, I was exhausted and feeling the effects of breathing in smoke all night. If the wood burner is only meant as a supplement, it should have been clear that guests need serious camping gear. I would never have booked had I known. This was easily the worst stay I’ve ever had. Unfortunately, I booked three consecutive nights at different locations, and each night was equally miserable. While the canvas tents may withstand weather, they don’t provide comfort or rest. The company can’t control the weather, but they certainly could be more transparent about what’s lacking. Check out my video from their Zion location on a windy night—it wasn’t even the worst of it. At the Moab location, the fire still went out frequently, even when the weather was calm. And to top it off, the private shower wasn’t heating properly and took 45 minutes to fix. None of this is ideal for people visiting national parks and doing strenuous activities. The only positives were the scenic views and proximity to the parks, but I wouldn’t recommend this experience to anyone—not even to my worst enemies.
