Customer Reviews
Our cabin was beautifully located in view of the lake with a fireplace inside. Food and service was excellent. We ordered two pizzas and they ended up being so big we used a fork and knife to eat it. It was delicious!! Definitely recommend!
We just stayed there during Christmas. We enjoyed it! The views of the creek and mountains were beautiful! There was construction in the lodge area, but it was okay; we had no issues with it since we spent our days out. I did wish the shuttle service and amenities were available on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day so we could take advantage of them, but we couldn't, so we went into town. Breakfast was disappointing, that is the area they need to improve. Overall, it was a great place to stay, and I'm sure after the renovations, it's going to look even better. We will be back!
We had a great weekend camping here. We tent camped where the RVs parked so we had access to bathrooms, electricity and running water. The properties were all well maintained and the bathrooms were even heated. We hiked a total of 17 miles and still had more to explore. There is still lots of damage from the storm but thankfully the park has kept the paths cleared very well and it didn’t distract from the experience. One of the highlights was being able to hike to downtown Helen for dinner one night. Will definitely come back to try out more trails.
We thought it would be a nice place to stay especially since it’s a part of the state park. The place looks nice, but they never answer their phones. We checked into the room, and they left the smallest bit of toilet paper on the holder. If you’re going to clean the room, then maybe replenish stuff as well? The vent was also super dusty in the bathrooms. Looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in years. Also, apparently our room keys don’t work, and they were even rekeyed. The sweet housekeeper had to walk back down and have them checked. Turns out the keys worked sometimes. Because when the maintenance person came they somehow worked. I would only choose this place if there is nowhere else to stay. 1 star for the the decent rooms and 1 star for the super sweet housekeeper. Also there are no elevators in the lodge. so be prepared for stairs.
I am very disappointed and don't usually write reviews but I truly need some answers. My wife and I came to the Helen GA area for a mini-vacation. Being thanksgiving we knew finding a place to eat would be challenging. This is why we were so excited to learn of the thanksgiving buffet at the lodge. We made reservations over a month prior to our trip and received a confirmation we were booked for 230 pm. At no time were we advised to come in early to check in or that there maybe an overly long wait. When we arrived about 215 there were cars literally lined up almost to park entrance. I was like no worries we have a reservation. I asked my wife to go in to check in while I find a place to park no matter how far I had to park. She contacted me as I was leaving to pick her up and she would explain in the car. When she got in she said the line to check in was over an hour long wait and again the line to check in stretched completely around the interior of the restaurant and back to the front entrance. My question is what is exactly the point of making a reservation a month out to not be able to get in. We wound up eating dinner at a huddle house. If there is a process to check in early that should have been made abundantly clear which as I said before it wasn't. This made a fun trip very disappointed as we were both looking forward to this dinner/buffet.
The lodge is just outside Helen, about a 10 min drive to downtown and is undergoing some reservations. Our room had a wonderful view of the mountains and the day room had tables, chairs and TV and fireplace. It was warm and cozy. There are fun drives on the twist roads around there and great scenery. Special shout outs to Wilson, Heather and Joshua for helping is while we were there. Can’t wait to return!
We recently visited for a few days. The Lodge staff were very respectful and accommodating. The rooms were clean and supplied everything we needed for a quality stay. We ate breakfast lunch and dinner at the Restaurant and Tavern. The food was excellent and the servers went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our meal! Great work Unicoi!
