We stayed at an oTENTik for a few days and were very happy with the site. It has a beautiful view, is fairly quiet, and the restrooms were kept relatively clean. Since parking is on the other side of the lock, you need to be ready to carry your stuff over the lock.
Great location, quiet, with nice views. Only downside is that the washrooms aren't the cleanest - Parks Canada could put more effort into ensuring that the washrooms are cleaned regularly (lots of dead bugs and probably haven't been mopped in a while). Also, the firewood they sell is garbage - wet and more rot than wood. Water is from a sulphur well so don't be surprised (mild rotten egg smell).
We had an absolutely awesome experience here that far exceeded our expectations. We plan on returning soon. The Otentik was clean and very well maintained, the staff were outstanding and the area is absolutely beautiful. We loved canoeing up and down the river and checking out the scenery.
Very nice camping site. I had so much fun with the canoe. There was a big field close by where you can play soccer balls, fly kite, etc. Only one thing which disapointed me was: we left a tripod outside and on the next morning, it was disapear with no sight. I camped at many place before and never saw any thing missing. That was so wierd for me.
Boater rest stop, picnic area with a couple of yurts. Tent camping allowed. Very scenic location.
