Pretty views await you at the far end of Upper Kintla Lake, though be warned; the stated 400 feet of elevation gain to get there from the trail head feels significantly greater. The campground accommodates quite a few, is well-laid out, and sits on the lake shore. Bring strong bug repellent in the warmer months, and if the Park Service says all permits are taken, know that many people reserve spaces they never use. So, if you're in the area, stop by a ranger station to see what's opened up because someone didn't show. Of course, this is grizzly country. Take appropriate precautions.

My wife and I hiked in from boulder pass. This is one of the better laid out campsites that we saw on our 9 day trip. The campsites are fairly private but there is still a great view from the eating area. We both liked swimming in the lake but it was very cold still.
