Location was beautiful. Roads are decent enough in most areas for a passenger vehicle. Can't wait to go back. The restrooms were pretty clean considering. There are dumpsters close to most camp sites.
Beautiful developed campsite with a vault toilet. I was the only one staying there in late July. There's a small creek with trout just a few feet from some of the sites. The only issue is that the grass was a bit high at most of the sites
Freaking awesome camping place! Once you turn on 76 you'll be meet with some developed camping areas that are nice but if you keep trucking past the cattle gaurds that were Gods Land begins! Wether your solo camping with 27 people you'll find a spot. Great for off road vehicles, many many trails you can explore. Was super busy, people were nice and considerate despite that fact. And if your coming from Santa Fe, take the Taos High Road scenic byway. What a gorgeous drive. Upper La Junta will always be on areas for considering when looking for a place to camp. Oh and zero service for cell phone once on 76. Great place for an unplugged experience!
3 1/2 stars. Some great spots, especially for groups. ATV's popular though, so may or may not be a quiet experience.Closed right now due to drought.
It was so beautiful, but now it is on fire! It's all those people with RV's . They don't take care about our New Mexico.
