Great place right on the Salmon River to spend the night or a couple of days. There is a one lane bridge you have to cross to get to the campground but this didn't seem to be a problem for even longer pull behinds. The sites are fairly level, fire rings and table. There is a hand pump for cool drinking water. There is only one pit toilet which looks to be original to the campground...the floors are crumbling, holes in the walls and in general poor repair. There is no host on site and the overall condition of the campground was evident of that. The cost is $20 a night. If they up graded the toilets and got a full time host for the Upper and Lower O Brien campgrounds this could be one of the best campgrounds in the area.
Quiet campground to stay in. Very pleasant, right next to the Salmon River. The entrance to this campground probably seems a little difficult, I did it with my truck and a 18 foot trailer and I had no problem at all. I think it is inadvisable to try to bring an RV into the Lower O'Brian campground, although you could walk from Upper to Lower and see for yourself. Regardless, Upper is really nice and peaceful and at night you really do get that feeling of solitude because this seems like a campground which is rarely full.
Nice campground, the roads Are all dirt and gravel. Nice quiet campground for the weekend getaway or a 2 week stay. Water is drawn from a long handle pump like the old days.
Vault toilet is open in the winter and there’s TP!
A great, little campground off the road. Great access to the river, bathrooms, water pump and dump. A little traffic noise but mostly you hear the river.
