Needed to get a National Parks “America The Beautiful” Annual Pass and didn’t want to risk not getting it by mail in time for an Upcoming trip. Drove from Oak Creek to De Soto to get one in person. Nice park and campground. If I was a camper, I would consider staying there.
Nice Campground on the water and surrounded by sloughs and backwater. Busy boat ramp in the park and lots of swings and benches. No water hookups at most sites.
Blackhawk Park was a nice park and Campground in the channels of the Mississippi River near De Soto Wisconsin. There is a great many number of campground sites to reserve. They have some nice playground areas, picnic areas, shelters, plenty of shoreline to do some fishing as well. The fishing you can experience here is excellent, with many species of fish available to fish for. Lots of diversity in their forest trees as well. Its a nice spot just a minute or two off the Great River road.
Blackhawk lake campground is another fine example of the core of engineers campgrounds. I travel out lot across the country by camper van and find that the Corp’s campgrounds are so well-maintained and this one is no exception. The entire area is beautiful and the facilities in the bathroom were well maintained.
One of the best campgrounds on the Upper Mississippi. Staff are always very friendly. Unlike many other campgrounds on the Mississippi the train tracks aren't close by.
Been coming here for so long that I have a favorite site and will usually plan my visit around its availability. Perfect spot for fishing, hiking, boating, or just relaxing. I tent camp, but the whole place is also extremely well equipped for rvs and campers. Everything is clean and well maintained. Staff is friendly and visible without being intrusive. There's a great little general store on the property where you can get hot food, ice, firewood, snacks, bait, and some of the little things you may have forgotten to pack. It's wonderful having nice, hot showers that are cleaned daily.
This is a clean, well cared for campground. You can't beat COE parks for affordable camping. The park staff was very friendly and helpful also. The bathrooms were modern and clean. We loved it here! Note: there is high manganese levels in their water. There is a filter on one of the spigots but it would be best to arrive with plenty of your own drinking water.
Very nice and helpful park personal. Very spacious spaces electric and non. Well maintained shower/ restrooms. Trails to explore. Beach and playground for the young and young at heart. There is a wheelchair accessible fishing dock and restroom in the back. Thank make it fun for everyone.
