US Army Corps of Engineers Introduce

🌲 **Introduction / Overview: Your Gateway to the East Texas Outdoors**

If you're looking for an affordable, beautiful, and feature-rich outdoor destination in the heart of the East Texas Pineywoods, look no further than the facilities managed by the **U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE)** at the Town Bluff Project, centered around B.A. Steinhagen Lake—commonly known as 'Dam B.' While the official USACE office is located in Woodville, the primary destination for local users and visitors seeking a premier camping experience is **Magnolia Ridge Park**.

Magnolia Ridge Park is a highly-rated, year-round campground that serves as a fantastic basecamp for exploring the natural beauty of the region. Known for its tranquil atmosphere, spacious RV and tent sites, and excellent access to water-based recreation, it offers a laid-back, family-friendly environment. It is managed by the US Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth District, which ensures high standards of maintenance and operation, providing Texans with a quality public recreation area. The affordability and beautiful natural setting—situated on the northwest shore of B.A. Steinhagen Lake—make it a true gem for fishing, boating, birding, and simply unwinding beneath a canopy of towering pine and hardwood trees.

The USACE also manages other developed campgrounds in the area, including Sandy Creek Park and Campers Cove (note: Campers Cove is sometimes closed for renovation), but Magnolia Ridge remains a local favorite for its comprehensive amenities and welcoming vibe. The facility is a testament to the USACE's commitment to flood control, water supply, and providing exceptional recreational opportunities to the public.

📍 **Location and Accessibility**

The administrative office for the US Army Corps of Engineers Town Bluff Project is located in Woodville, Texas, at 5171 FM 92. However, it's important for visitors to note a common detail shared by local users: **Magnolia Ridge Park**—the actual RV and camping area—is situated a short distance away, approximately 7 to 12 miles east of Woodville on the northwest side of B.A. Steinhagen Lake.

To reach the campground from Woodville, simply travel east on US 190, then turn south onto FM 92. The park is conveniently located near the junction of these major roadways. Its proximity to both Woodville and Jasper, Texas, makes it an accessible weekend getaway for residents throughout Southeast Texas. The drive is scenic, taking you through the heart of the Pineywoods, setting the stage for a relaxing retreat into nature. Visitors planning a stay should consult the specific park map or their reservation confirmation for precise driving instructions to the campground entrance.

The USACE office location is:

This location is close to the park and serves as the central point for project management, but campers will head directly to Magnolia Ridge Park's gatehouse to check in to their reserved campsite.
