US Campgrounds Introduce

Welcome to US Campgrounds, located at 1880 Narrows Rd, Lucas, KY 42156, USA. As part of the Campgrounds & RV Parks category, US Campgrounds offers a camping experience in the Lucas, Kentucky area. You can contact them at (270) 646-3094 or their mobile number +1 270-646-3094 for inquiries.

Based on visitor reviews, the campsites at US Campgrounds are described as mostly small to medium in size, with a few larger options available. Many sites require navigating a grade and considerable leveling to set up. Each campsite is equipped with electrical and water hookups; however, sewer hookups are not provided, and there is only one dump station available for the entire campground, which can lead to long wait times.

The campground has only two wash houses, which often results in lines. Phone service is reported to be spotty and nonexistent in certain areas of the campground.

Some visitors have noted a large number of boaters in the area and a lack of enforcement regarding the number of vehicles allowed per site, which can make driving through the loops challenging.

One reviewer mentioned a negative overall experience compared to other Corps of Engineers campgrounds. Another explicitly stated they would not be returning to US Campgrounds.

Separately, a visitor shared information about the nearby Barren River State Park, highlighting its lodge with chef-prepared meals (approximately $20 per person at night, with a $10.50 all-you-can-eat lunch special), a swimming area referred to as "the beach," horseback riding (around $15 per person), and a lounge inside the lodge. This information, while positive, pertains to Barren River State Park and not directly to US Campgrounds.

Considering the feedback, potential visitors to US Campgrounds should be aware of the campsite sizes, the need for leveling, the limited number of dump stations and wash houses, potential issues with phone service, and possible crowding. While basic hookups are available, the overall experience may not meet the expectations of all campers.

The campsites are mostly small to medium size with a few larger ones. Many require going up or down a grade and considerable leveling. Sites have electrical and water hookups, but no sewer. There is only one dump station. We have been in line to dump for more than 30 minutes. Only two wash houses in the campground, so there's often a line there as well. Phone service is spotty.and nonexistent in parts of the campground. We camp at lots of Corps of Engineers campgrounds and have to say this is the least desirable one we have encountered. Lots of boaters. There is no enforcement of the vehicles per site rules, so just driving through the loop can be a challenge. We won't be back here.
