As a comprehensive provider within the Campgrounds & RV Parks sector, Valhalla Island Campground offers a wide array of services and goods designed to ensure a comfortable and convenient stay. The campground primarily caters to seasonal campers, offering well-appointed RV sites that come equipped with full hookups, including 50-amp electric, water, and sewer connections. Each spacious site is designed to accommodate large campers, up to 40 feet with slides, and typically includes a picnic table and a fire ring for outdoor enjoyment. While the focus is on seasonal spots, there are also considerations for shorter stays, with some sources mentioning daily, weekly, and monthly rates, though seasonal spots are often in high demand and the campground may be full. Guests can enjoy swimming at the designated beach area, fishing for abundant walleye, crappie, and perch, or taking leisurely boat rides. A private boat dock just steps away from the camper sites makes lake access incredibly easy. For family fun, the campground features a large play area and a playground for children, ensuring ample entertainment for younger guests. An all-season picnic shelter provides a versatile space for gatherings, even on less-than-ideal weather days. The campground also fosters a strong sense of community through organized events and activities throughout the season. These can include fun gatherings, and unique offerings like a farmers market and church services every Sunday, creating a welcoming and engaging atmosphere for campers. The campground also provides golf cart storage, a convenient amenity for many seasonal campers. Furthermore, its pet-friendly policy ensures that furry family members can join in on the camping adventure, with specific guidelines for pet management.

While specific detailed promotional information can vary and is best confirmed directly with the campground, Valhalla Island Campground frequently offers value-added benefits and special considerations given its seasonal nature. For seasonal campers, all utilities are often included with a budget for electricity, simplifying billing and ensuring a predictable cost. The inclusion of winter storage in the rent price for seasonal spots is a significant promotional benefit. The campground also mentions partnerships for camper maintenance, indicating a commitment to supporting their long-term guests. For shorter stays, historical data indicates daily, weekly, and monthly rates may be available, with potential discounts for weekdays (excluding holidays) and often a "stay 6 days, get the 7th free" offer. It is always recommended to contact Valhalla Island Campground directly via phone or email, as listed on their official website, to inquire about current pricing, availability, and any ongoing special promotions or waiting list information for seasonal sites. Their website is also a valuable resource for viewing campground maps and virtual tours, which can further inform prospective campers about the layout and amenities. Proximity to local attractions like Lake Shetek State Park, various hiking trails, picnic areas, and nearby restaurants and shops further enhances the appeal, suggesting potential collaborations or ease of access for campers looking to explore beyond the campground boundaries.

In conclusion, Valhalla Island Campground On Lake Shetek offers a comprehensive and inviting camping experience within the Campgrounds & RV Parks category. Its idyllic lakeside environment, characterized by mature trees and direct access to Lake Shetek, provides a stunning natural backdrop. New owner hasn't kept up the grounds as good as Jeff and Tammy did, previous owners. Drinking Water is consistently smelly(rotten egg smell) Verizon phones have virtually no signal in the campground, not the owners fault but just want future campers to know. Wifi doesn't work that well, some areas of the campground it doesn't work at all. Very limited TV channels off of your antenna. No cable options and depending on location satellite tv isn't an option either, line of site to satellite is blocked by trees. new lease contract is very one sided and there is a "no sue" clause that you have to sign to continue leasing there. The campground put up a volleyball net with half on one level and the other half of the net below a brick retaining wall, see picture. The campgrounds beach is small, and that's being polite. The beach and swim area is the "square" area in the photos. On the Facebook page a lot of the photos are from other areas around the lake and not in the campground, very misleading in my opinion. Like the docks and trails. The old owners put their blood ,sweat, and tears into this campground and did a phenomenal job. The old owner Jeff knew how and when to change the water filters and the drinking water was fine, not so much this year, 2022 with the new ownership. A copy of the 2023 season lease is attached. Zoom in towards the bottom and read the red lettering if you want to see the "no sue" clause. New owner either didn't do mosquito control or switched the process because bugs were the worst we've seen them.in 7 years. New owner also didn't properly pick up leaves last fall and that gave mice a place to live until they found people's campers, many campers said to me that they never had a mice problem before and they contributed it to the new owner not properly cleaning up the grounds before winter.

Absolutely loved it there! The wife and kids enjoyed the playground! Went out fishing! Loved the atmosphere! This campground has changed since years ago! For the better. Would highly recommend anyone that wants to have some outdoor fun and love the new ownership! We will be coming back next year!

I can’t leave a zero or I would. I don’t need a response to this review as I feel it will be repetitively empty and it makes the place look even worse. We loved the place for 6 years. The past year we gave the new owner some grace and a year to see if he has follow through. Not to our expectations so we are moving out. Too numerous reasons for our departure to explain here. The most non-friendly campground we have been to. None of the staff even wave or make the campers feel welcome as if being friendly would be too much work. “Fun Director” employee of the campground is an ironic name, as all fun events were either cancelled or previous years fun events left unscheduled. That was not a good partnership choice. We are unable to have decent internet all summer- which we don’t necessarily need, but since it was promised, then it becomes an expectation. As you scroll through the reviews, please notice all of the 5 star ones would have been associated with the previous owners. I would leave this same review on FB, but the reviews there are controlled to be only positive. Best of luck to our fellow campers that are staying.

New owner as of a year ago. New owner will lie to you and try to get every dime out of your pocket. Raised the seasonal rent $700 (now at $2700) for next season without any warning because he has a waiting list. Blocked all reviews on Facebook. Only reason for 1 star is because you can't leave 0. He is never around and will not talk to you even if you happen to catch him.

The owners are extremely friendly and make you feel welcome right away. I appreciate the Sunday morning church service held every week throughout the summer. They even have it open to anyone living in the surrounding area and serve coffee, donuts and cookies afterwards. Great time to meet new friends and enjoy a Sunday morning.
