Van Isle Cowichan RV Park & Campground Introduce

Welcome to Van Isle Cowichan RV Park & Campground, a premier destination in the Campgrounds & RV Parks category located at 2950 Boys Rd, Duncan, British Columbia, Canada. Formerly known as Duncan RV Park, this revitalized campground offers a welcoming and comfortable experience under the new ownership of Tammy and Daryan, with groundskeeper Jen ensuring a pleasant environment.

Environment: This RV park is described as open, well-manicured, well-maintained, clean, safe, and quiet. The grounds have been improved to resemble a nice park, offering a tranquil atmosphere. Situated next to the Cowichan River and tucked away behind businesses on Boys Rd, it provides a peaceful setting. The sites are spacious, avoiding a cramped feeling, and the month-by-month residents maintain their RVs and sites to a high standard.

Services: Van Isle Cowichan RV Park & Campground offers water and electricity hookups at individual sites. While there are sewer hookups at each site, the common dump site is currently out of service pending the installation of an automated payment station. The men's washroom has clean facilities with plenty of hot water, although the shower stalls are noted to be a little narrow. There is no onsite laundry, but a full-service or coin laundromat is conveniently located at a nearby shopping centre.

Features: The new owners and staff are consistently praised for being nice and friendly, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The park's location is a significant advantage, being close to the quaint town centre of Duncan (a 15-minute walk or 5-minute drive) and even closer to a large shopping centre. For those needing reliable internet, there are unobstructed sites suitable for Starlink users. Notably, the layout, maintenance, and aesthetic appeal of Van Isle Cowichan RV Park & Campground are considered significantly better than another nearby RV park on Allenby Rd.

I really liked this RV Park; so open, well manicured, well maintained, clean, safe and quiet. And I liked Duncan. Close (15 minute walk or 5 minute drive) to the quaint town centre. A large shopping centre is even closer. I stayed a week in Nov. This campground used to be called the Duncan RV Park and is still shown by that name on AllStays.com. It is now called Van Isle Cowichan RV Park and Campground. The new owners, Tammy and Daryan, and the groundskeeper, Jen, were the nicest and friendliest people - it's nice to meet people like that - even better when they are the campground hosts! They told me how they asked some long term residents to leave after they took over the place in order to provide a nicer environment - aligned with their vision - and some of those people left bad reviews. I can understand that from their perspective. I loved staying here. The grounds improvements make it like a nice park. Tranquill. The month-by-month residents have well maintained RVs and sites. The sites do not cramp everyone in there like sardines. Okay, I don't want to be a salesman, so here are the cons: 1. There are sewer hookups at the individual sites, but the common dump site is out of service now until they install an automated station for payment, 2. The shower stalls in the men's washroom are a little narrow (with plenty of hot water though), and 3. There is no onsite laundry (but there is a full service or coin laundromat at the shopping centre). This is a very nice campground next to the Cowichan River, tucked away behind some businesses on Boys Rd. There are also unobstructed sites for Starlink users, like me. Finally, there is another RV Park around the corner on Allenby Rd. I went there by mistake initially... The Van Isle Cowichan RV Park and Campground is significantly better laid out, manicured, maintained and aesthetically appealing.

The two managers, Tammy and Darian, are very kind and accommodating. I spent several days at this campground and loved my stay. The campground is clean, very pretty and quiet. Very close to downtown and shopping, with the river right next door. I had a nice spot with water and electricity. Despite changes in my schedule, Tammy and Darian were very accommodating with my booking, which I really appreciate.

I’m normally not one for paid camping as I’m a bit of an explorer, but last weekend it was 29 degrees in Duncan and I always follow the heat also I’m not privi to any off grid spots in that area. On my arrival I found a welcoming tidy campground right beside the Duncan bridge and the Cowichan River. The managers were very nice, friendly and helpful and have a lovely dog.The cost is 30 bucks a night and there’s water, hookups, sani-dump, nice washrooms and showers and swimming a very short walk away. There’s some full time residents in the park as well. It was very quiet at night and peaceful and relaxing in the daytime. If you’re looking for paid camping right beside the Cowichan River you might enjoy this spot. I wholeheartedly recommend this campground/RV park! I made this video for my YouTube channel so you can get a good look at the place before heading out their way! :copy and paste in your browser; https://youtu.be/F50XUCXYllE?si=Wx9CNJSlD55v2bg0

Our stay at this RV park was nothing short of exceptional! The park was incredibly safe, clean, and quiet, creating the perfect environment for a peaceful getaway. The facilities were well-maintained, and we always felt comfortable throughout our visit. What truly set this place apart, though, was the outstanding hospitality of the owners and the beautiful view we had with our assigned site. They were extremely helpful and accommodating, going above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed for a great stay. Their genuine care and attentiveness made us feel right at home. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and will definitely be returning. Highly recommend this gem for anyone looking for a relaxing and hassle-free RV experience! Mike and Corinne

If there was a button for zero that is what I would have marked. There are so much to say but I will show pros and cons of the employees and manager of this place . Pros By the river Close to town Nice view , lots of trails Cons Manager says she owns the property, not true Manager likes to control people, if she can't in one way she will in another. Different rules for long term Pad rental , then her friends . Manager acts like she cares but doesn't. Careful of the harrassment and bullying ,two faced . Owner of RV park is her mother and only one on the lease . Not manager!!!! Lies , manipulation, power cutting off in winter is her way to control people. Many have come and one day later gone . This is straight from someone who had to deal with all that is said in this review . This is a true story and yes it's bad . So enjoy the bad ? Or go somewhere you can have fun . I would rather be elsewhere , which is what I did . Thanks
