We rented a two man kayaks for 4 hours and it was quick and easy to book over the phone! We went on a cold day in the middle of January and got lost as we were coming back from the island. Our kayak flipped… but Captain Shawn showed up within minutes, took us into his boat, and made sure we got back to shore safe and sound. So grateful for his awareness and efforts to ensure our safety - would definitely recommend Vanishing Texas River Cruise!
Loved the cruise. The cruise guide was really entertaining and talked about things that, even as a lifelong Texan, I never knew. I learned a lot more from one cruise than I did from a semester of Texas History. He told stories in a way that made people want to listen and learn more. Take the cruise. You won't be sorry!
This was a beautiful ride. I DO recommend that you take the cruise during Bluebonnet season. We was very happy with the employees. They were so nice and helpful. Even though the wayer levels were low is was a nice cruise. Thank you so much.
Our family had a great time. The goal was to see Bald Eagles and we saw 6. We also saw a lot of osprey, pelicans, cormorants and other water fowl. It was a great family outing! Tim the tour guide was very knowledgeable
We love doing the cruise! Today, April 6th, the water is down so we just did the Lake Cruise and we saw 8 juvenile bald eagles! 🦅 It’s so exciting that the numbers are going up here!! The bluebonnets are gorgeous this time of year and well be back to ride up the river when it gets colder!!
Our tour guide was incredible knowledgeable and we could tell he enjoyed his job. We learned all kinds of interesting facts about Texas and the hill country area. Even though the lake was too low to see everything this was still a beautiful trip on Lake Buchanan and bonus we got to see an Eagle. 🦅
I planned for this trip for almost 3-4 weeks before hoping on. Please plan in advance as the tickets are open only in Saturdays. The guide Tim Mohan was very helpful in explaining about the places while on Tour. The crew were accommodating and this is a tour, i enjoyed in recent timing. Entire tour takes around 1.5hrs so plan accordingly. One important point before planning the tour is if the water levels are down below 1110 ft then they'll not able to take near the Tow Falls. I was disappointed that we couldnt venture near the falls. Check LCRA website for water levels before visiting. The tour book on Canyon of the eagles is optional to purchase. Have a great visit.
It was nice. Boat is definitely dated, but the price for a ticket is ok. Very friendly service. Lake was too low to see everything. That's not their fault, but it should be stated that you don't get to do the whole tour before you go. Otherwise it was a good time.
