Customer Reviews
I have camped all over America. This campground was outstanding. Yes, rustic. But just a beautiful setting. The washers/dryers and the laundry room were outstanding. Clean. The lots to camp on are gravel but there are concrete pads and picnic tables at each site. I had no trouble getting into my spot. Everything hooked up and working. The staff have been very helpful. You call and they answer. This morning I called. No answer so I hung up. Within one minute, I received a call back. Will stay here again. Highly recommend.
Came to Townsend to tube with family. Campsite was very tight together. narrow road. nightmare to back up even a 21 feet travel trailer. Then general manager came out wanting to charge my wife $4 extra a day because we had a second vehicle. Also wanted to charge extras a day for kids in my RV. Front office was reachable only by phone. Pool was being built or renovated. undrained rainwater at construction site created a mosquito nightmare. Lost of run-down long time tenants. Felt like I was living in trailer park instead of on RV vacation. Internet was super super slow and spotty. Only good thing was it was avail July 4th. Will plan further in advance next time. You get want you paid for.
This was our first RV stay at Vee Hollow Campground and overall it was a good experience. We based our plan to stay there on the fact that their website stated they had a pool. Upon arrival we discovered this was not the case, the pool was in early stages of construction. When I questioned why this was on their website, the camp host stated it "couldnt be removed". Now anyone that can spell website construction understands this isnt true, and they could easily say the pool was under construction. However, it wasnt a total game changer as we had already paid and it was to late to change sites. Another issue was the fact that while we understood only one vehicle was allowed on site with RV, we knew we had to park our 2nd vehicle at another location. What was never mentioned on the website is in order to park your 2nd vehicle on a grass lot at the front of the campground, their is a $ 4.00 charge. And as you can see from the pics attached, there were multiple sites that had more than 1 vehicle parked on the lot. Again no big deal, and not complaining about that. One issue we did have is the fact that we had our two grandkids with us, one was 5 and the other 11. The 11 yr old was an additional 23.00 charge. (anyone over age of 6) Again, this charge was never mentioned on the website. The campground was located on the banks of the little river, however in order to reach the river, one must walk across an occupied campsite, which generally isnt acceptable. We were advised there are plans to upgrade the electrical lines (which we had no issues with and all worked properly). The price to stay was reasonable and hookups worked well. For 20.00 per week, we received streaming internet and it worked flawlessly. No issues with internet access at all. Would we stay again, once the pool was operational,...maybe.....would we recommend to others...yes but with explanations. Overall, a pleasant experience, just wish they were more upfront on the website about requirements at the campground.
Unclear about what you’re allowed to actually have at your campsite. Apparently there’s a 1 tent per site rule that they waited to inform us on until we were at the site and 90% set up. Claimed the health inspector would have a problem with a teardrop camper and two tents on the same site. They proceeded to make me and another person who slept in small tents purchase a whole other site for the weekend. Cost us another $300 for our weekend. I think it was just a cash grab since we were coming in for a bike rally. Good luck getting wood from the campground after 6 if you didn’t manage to get any at the stores in town. Seems to be a common trend of not being able to actually get ahold of anyone in charge. Camp sites were smaller but clean and toilets and showers were clean and nice. Townsend is a nice little town and the people are friendly but not this place. Personally I’d stay away from this camp site unless you’re planning on parking an old trailer on the lot for permanent residence. They let them have whatever they want on the site then.
Camp sites were small. Electric was sketch. It kept cutting in and out. The facilities were well maintained. It was very difficult to reach any staff. The parking regulations were very unclear and enforced at will. They advertised free wifi but we were never given information to access the wifi.
