We were a little nervous about our stay based on some reviews that we had read. But ultimately it was nice! We didn’t witness any homeless. Nothing was stolen. That’s always a plus. Bathrooms were decent. Park rangers were friendly. However there were tons and tons of stickers (pokies) everywhere. That wasn’t fun with small children. Bring broom to sweep out tent. We had my husbands dewalt vacuum and that wasn’t even good enough. I would bring a rake Or a blower to clear area around tents. We were near the fwy so it was very noisy all throughout the night. Bring ear plugs. I wish I had brought some. The train was not bothersome at all. Also, We noticed the wind picked up around 10-11am and died down once the sun set. The wind kinda put a damper on things. Make sure to bring sweatshirts/sweatpants and chapstick. Overall my family had a great time and we can’t wait to go again!

Despite the bad reviews...this place was awesome. The Park Rangers drove through several times a day and spoke to us several times a day. It was clean, quiet and we never saw the homeless that the reviews claim are nearby. No one touched our stuff. And we were 3 families camping in site A. Super close walk to the beach. Which we thoroughly enjoyed. Bathrooms were cleaned everyday and stocked with toilet paper. However there were day use area too and people are just nasty but I don't blame the campground for that I would definitely recommend this place. And I plan on returning

It's a very special place close to the ocean, ruined by the homeless around. The police told me to stay alert. If you go there you need to book, even if you go hike/bike. The staff is very helpful and nice though!

We had a good time here but were overall disappointed with this group campsite that cost $130 to reserve. The picnic tables and fire pit were nice, and the bathrooms were stocked with toilet paper and relatively clean, but you are RIGHT next to the freeway. Was not really the get out into the wild camping experience we were expecting when all you here constantly is the loud freeway and then the trains from both sides. All day. And ALL night (falling asleep felt like falling asleep in the middle of said freeway it was that loud). The beach was pretty, but very rocky, and the campsite itself did not really have any view (besides of course of the freeway). Felt a little like we just parked on the side of the road rather than booked a campsite, the camp ranger was very nice and I’m still glad we came but will not be going back.

Ironic comments about "homeless". If the Spanish colonists had not stolen this land from the Chumash and had stayed in Espan̈a, where they came from....
