Not secluded, Junk everywhere, no camping within 200 feet of creek. This is one of the camping grounds closest to the city where people go often. There are even residential properties close by. We went on a weekday with a decent spot and quiet February night. It was probably the worst camping grounds I've ever seen.

Great place to camp! Close to Phoenix and real easy to get too. Close to the town of Payson but you still feel like you are out deep in the woods. The sites are very clean and there are plenty of fire rings. The area is small so don’t go in large groups of vehicles. Parking is limited. There are no amenities and you better bring your own firewood.

Our family's getaway. MY 2 siblings and all of our kids and dogs go camping at least once a month to Verde Campground.

This campground offers a charming hotel-like ambiance on the outside, which enhances the overall experience. I personally enjoy it more when it’s less crowded. The grounds are well-maintained, and the convenience of a nearby store that sells propane is a significant plus. Overall, a well-kept and enjoyable camping spot.

We went here during the Memorial day weekend. The loud music and even band performance winded down around 10 pm and we were grateful about that. The road was manageable with a 20 years old Honda CRV. The dirt is everywhere, some teenagers drove toy cars around the camping area, which was annoying. It was relatively clean, we didn't use the toilet though. The temperature is pretty low during the night.

May 2025: the creek is completely dry. Camping is right near the road in this area.

No longer a campground, no camping 200 feet near the Creek. Supposed to be about a frog and may be. Most likely people who camp once and leave trash and don't actually are about the land.
