We were at Camp Verde for a month and can’t say enough good things about it. The staff is amazing! There are lots of activities which facilitates getting to know people. The sites themselves are huge and well tended to. There was always someone out and about pruning, painting and doing repairs. From the site we visited Sedona, Flagstaff and Page to the north, Winslow and the Petrified Forest to the east and Cottonwood and Jerome to the west. It’s a great home base. We travelled for 5 months and was by far the nicest RV park we stayed in. I highly recommend this park and would absolutely stay there again.
TLDR, if you have kids, this is not the resort for you. I was told by some locals Verde Ranch would have been a better choice. We won't be coming back. This property is very nice and well kept but geared for the older crowd with tweaks to rules that are not kid friendly. Example, if you want to bring your offroad toy you are allowed to drive it off of the property to the trails as long as you have a driver's licence. Faire enough. What they don't tell you is that my 6 year old's little Razor counts (by their rules, not AZ law) as an off road vehicle so he could not ride it which left him one unhappy kid. Kids are not allowed in the spa which is annoying when it's windy and no one other than you and your kids have seen anyone at the pool for the 3 hours you were there. If you break a rule, you will get a nastygram email from them reminding you of the rules. You will find yourself camping on "eggshells" so to speak which does not make for a relaxing vacation. Also, there aren't any open spaces to throw a ball or have a game off soccer or football with the kids. This is the first RV resort where I didn't meet my neighbors. We got there on a Saturday and the place was a ghost town, RV's dark, no one out. Their moto is "Family Values and Family Fun" but I think they mean if the family members are well into adulthood. On the upside, the sites are spread out and facilities clean / well maintained. If you are looking for quiet and to be left alone, this is the place for you. If your have energetic kids, not so much.
Nice quiet park in the Verde valley area to see some of the historic sites around that area. Site was long enough for RV, trailer and a car. Gravel site and connections to everything was good and easy to access. Stayed 5 nights. All staff was nice. Pool and spa looked nice and also we did the mini golf and that was fun.
My SO and I stayed at VVRR over Valentines Day weekend and had such a nice experience. We stayed in a studio cottage overlooking the Verde River and it was absolutely perfect for us. Walking into the cottage was flowers and chocolates provided by them to celebrate the romantic weekend. I saw there was another vase on the counter and didnt know why but opened the fridge and there was another bouquet of flowers?! Wow such a great touch! Everyone in the park was nice and respectful from what we could see and experience. We played some putt putt but hole 3 is quite hard LOL if you been and played you know, if you havent you will see. We laughed because we have played a lot of putt putt and had to just give up on that one. They have a lot of events but we had our days filled with other activities so were not able to experience them but would like to if we visit again. Thanks again VVRR!
We had a nice stay at Verde River RV Resort, pull through space, hook ups went smoothly, quiet park. The only negative was a lot of bull thorns in the dry grassy area next to our space. We had to pick them out of our shoes and off the trailer floor.
