Vernal RV Resort

This is not a resort, no pool, no jacuzzi and nothing to really offer. Nice newly built front office but the short time we stayed there wasn’t anyone there. Packages get dropped off on the porch so not safe from thieves. no laundry area showers/restrooms that we could see. It’s basically a parking lot for oil workers to live while they are working. The older than 10 year campers rule does not apply like at Resorts, so you have 30+ yr old RVs in the park. I think the owners have good intentions and have been in business a year, they have planted nice trees but it’s not complete. There is no dog park, the river is so high there is no beach right now. The lots are sand/gravel but level and long. There is a retention pond/ berm that needs fenced and attracts lots of mosquitoes. We did see an overgrown horseshoe pit, some fire rings and benches to sit and 2 small metal pavilions that would fit a picnic table. It has a way to go before being considered a resort. Length of stay for people is long term meaning greater than 6 months which makes more like a Mobile Home style park.

Wow don’t be fooled. They call themselves an RV resort but fall extremely short, especially considering the high rates charged for a theoretical resort. Campground sites are all gravel, no tables, no fire pit and advertised high-speed internet that is up and down so much it is unusable. Our lot when we arrived as well as our neighbors’ lots were full of dog feces attracting unbearable amounts of flies. Forcing us to clean up others problems. The “resort” charges a $25 pet fee but does nothing to enforce a cleanup other than “take the money and run” policy and deflect the problem leaving customers distinctly frustrated. Camp manager is rarely on site during their ridiculous hours of 9-2, leaving the laundry and other “Resort” features mostly unavailable. She is a champion denier and excuse maker so good luck with this one. I strongly recommend avoiding this one like upcoming plague it might encounter.

We had a great stay. We were able to ride our UTV right from the park. It was nice and quiet. Even though the place is new and has some growing to do, the staff was great both ladies were helpful with the area info and very accommodating. Thank you for a fun and relaxing stay!

Stayed at this park over 6 months, closest park to our job site. The water is gross, it stained our camper and smells like dirt. They have laundry room but are never at office to let people use it. We had propane tank the entire time we were there like everyone else who stayed there, randomly she has a problem with that months later, so she called propane company to have it removed for us. Then we had to go home to TX for family emergency, and stayed for the funeral and then ended up being there longer than expected due to weather and floods. We were gone a whole 15 days, we told Sharl we would pay with a check as soon as we got back like we ALWAYS did. Unfortunately that wasn’t good enough, so she unplugged our power to our camper, ruining everything in our fridge, medicine, deer meat, etc. THEN week later she had our truck AND camper towed for being “abandoned” even though we were in contact with her whole time and have always paid our rent. They broke our door lock, towed camper with our slide still out. On top of having her buddy tow and and damage everything costing us over $4K to tow 7.9 miles down the road…Sharl also keeps our camper skirting, grill, lawn chairs, speaker, welding supply’s, water hose, etc and throws it in a pile. I guess she still wanted to get some kind of payment for our camper sitting at the EMPTY park without it using water OR power AND ruining everything in fridge? She told us our spot was “reserved” but of course when we got there the spot was EMPTY. Worst Rv park we’ve stayed at, I highly wouldn’t recommend. Thank you for robbing us and damaging our property. Hope no one treats you the way you treated us.

This location was close to the Dinosaur Monument, which was very convenient. We stayed 2 nights but didn’t get much sleep. The campground is right next to the highway and the majority of the traffic is semi trucks. There were a few hours during the night that were quiet. The park is mainly live-ins and so we heard loud music, dogs barking and a few that walked thru our site to get to the river. The place is very clean and appears organized, but I don’t believe the owners live on site. We never met them as they were gone by 2 pm.
