We love this place! We visit a few times a year. Prices are average but the location, people, facilities, and activities are awesome! The shuttle to the beach is awesome in the summer and the winter activities are fun. The new lazy river is awesome to have right in the park and the Ziplines are too. Our favorite place in VA!
Tried to book a cabin starting at 3:30 online. Site kept saying “error had occurred.” Called both numbers for the campground. One rang and rang and never picked up. The other number rang to a voicemail saying leave a message…but mailbox was full. Tried repeatedly. So we arrived there at 8:30, and a nice gentlemen greeted us and asked if we were checking in. We explained our situation and that we wanted to rent a cabin for 2 nights. (There were obvious vacancies, by the way) He was on his cell with someone (maybe manager) and asked, and replied that they said there was no way they could rent a cabin starting”after hours.” Tried to plead our case due to the errors on booking site, no one answering the phones, and a full voicemail…but was told, sorry, there’s no way they can rent a cabin after hours. Not what I would call very customer-service friendly, KOA Virginia Beach. And btw…empty your voicemails or answer the phone.
We highly recommend VB KOA. We did not stay in a cottage. We stayed in our A-Liner. Electrical services were excellent. Rest rooms and showers were clean. When there was a problem in the men's room (flooding), the on call Team resolved the issue. Overall, I highly recommend the VB KOA.
The reason I gave the rating I gave is due to the fact that your store front is more important than your guests. There are repairs going on at the store when the repairs should be in the camp site areas. Where quest have standing water around the camp site due to it not draining away from camping area
This KOA site has been improved a lot with a new playground and additional jumping pad. The trash was picked up behind our cabin this time. Last time I stayed here I filled a big bag with trash in the forested area behind our cabin. The deluxe cabins need warmer blankets. They’re basically sheets. The WIFI is fairly slow but mostly workable. Bring your Roku or other device because the TVs are coaxial, not smart. No ovens. Leave your biscuits at home. Bring your own wood if you can. Small bundles are $10. Bring your own propane fuel because the camp store doesn’t sell them and you’ll need to head down to Walmart. Nice stay other than that.
