Shaver Lake, CA 93664, USA

Introduce

Voyager Rock Campground, located in the scenic Shaver Lake, CA 93664, provides a unique and adventurous camping experience within the Campgrounds & RV Parks category. This campground is specifically designed for those seeking a rugged and secluded getaway at Courtright Reservoir.

Voyager Rock Campground is renowned for its beautiful campsites situated directly next to Courtright Reservoir. However, accessing these campsites requires a 4-wheel drive vehicle with good clearance. The terrain demands mild wheeling, and in some cases, 4LO may be necessary. This requirement effectively limits access to those with suitable vehicles, ensuring a less crowded and more exclusive camping experience.

The campground offers pit toilets as the primary amenity. There is no running water available, so visitors must bring their own water supply. Due to the challenging access, the campground maintains a sense of wilderness and tranquility, making it an ideal destination for those looking to escape the crowds.

For those planning a weekend trip, it's recommended to arrive early on a Thursday to secure a desirable lakeside campsite. The limited accessibility contributes to the campground's appeal, offering a genuine off-road camping adventure.

Key features of Voyager Rock Campground include:

  • Beautiful lakeside campsites at Courtright Reservoir.
  • Requires 4-wheel drive vehicle with high clearance.
  • Mild wheeling and potentially 4LO required for access.
  • Pit toilets on site.
  • No running water available.
  • Secluded and rugged camping experience.
  • Ideal for escaping crowds.

Voyager Rock Campground is perfect for adventurers who enjoy off-road driving and seek a tranquil lakeside retreat. The challenging access contributes to the campground's unique atmosphere, providing a genuine wilderness experience. If you have a suitable vehicle and are looking for a secluded camping adventure, Voyager Rock Campground is an excellent choice.

Beautiful campsites next to Courtright reservoir. Pit toilets no running water. You need a 4 wheel drive vehicle with good clearance to access the campsites. This keeps the a lot of the rift raft out. Go early on a Thursday to secure a good lakeside campsite for the weekend.
