📍 Location and Accessibility: Right on the Edge of Adventure
The resort’s location is arguably one of its biggest advantages for park visitors. It is located at 12475 Burma Rd, Kabetogama, MN 56669, USA, placing it strategically on the shores of Lake Kabetogama and near the central entrance to Voyageurs National Park.
Its unparalleled proximity to the park's main hub is a major selling point: the Kabetogama Lake Visitor Center is only about a 3-minute drive (less than a mile) away. This makes planning park excursions, attending ranger programs, or obtaining information incredibly convenient. Furthermore, it is situated about 20 minutes from the Ash River Visitor Center, giving you quick access to multiple park areas.
Set within a protected bay, the resort’s harbor offers valuable security and shelter for guests’ boats, a priceless advantage when Mother Nature stirs up the waters of the big lake. While the resort offers short-term RV sites, it is worth noting the popularity of the location means that reservations, especially for the limited short-term RV spots, should be made early to secure your stay.

My family and I spent a week here in our RV and thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The owners definitely deserve a 10/10 for customer service - they were very helpful and accommodating, going out of their way to make sure our stay was great. The resort is quiet and peaceful with a swimming beach and water trampoline, kayaks and canoes, as well as boat rentals. This is a great location for visiting Voyageurs National Park - it's only 3 minutes from the Kabetogama Lake Visitor Center and about 20 minutes to the Ash River Visitor Center. We rented a pontoon boat for a day and visited Ellsworth Rock Gardens, Kettle Falls, and more sites in Voyageurs National Park. Make your reservations early - there are only a few RV sites for short-term stays. The seasonal sites are well-kept, and the people we met were incredibly nice.
Sunrise Resort was a great spot to enjoy our trip to Voyageurs NP. Craig was super gracious and accommodating. The grounds and showers are nice and well taken care of. Right on a little beach and they provide free kayaks, beach toys and a water bouncy house. We rented a boat and they told us of the best spots to visit on the lake. Overall wonderful place!! Would recommend to anyone wanting an RV spot or a cabin.
Our yearly family destination. Cabin we stay in is nice. People operating campgrounds are friendly and helpful. The lake is huge. They have rental boats if you don’t have your own.. bait and fuel available as well..
I googled this place, called and talked to Craig. We booked for a week. Craig and his staff are wonderful and hard working people. The grounds were clean and grass mowed. Shower house was spotless each time I was in it. We enjoyed our stay here. We hope to return.
Stayed for three nights on our travels across the top of the country. Wonderful campground and a magnificent spot on the lake. Rented a pontoon boat for a couple days to tour the lake. We are not boaters and Craig was great giving us all the instructions needed…..with patience for first time boaters. Highly recommend the campground and touring the lake on a pontoon boat. Thanks Craig for your hospitality!
