Beautiful little campground with amazing views from nearly every campsite. It was mostly very quiet and peaceful. I loved that there was a little lending library. The grounds were well maintained. The bathroom was in need of a bit of attention. Some areas of it were not very clean, and the shower curtains had definitely seen better days. We couldn't use our picnic table at our site. It had an infestation of bugs/ants that swarmed anything that was set on it, and it was being hollowed out. I can deal with the bathroom issues and the picnic table, but the camp host/office person was problematic for me. My site was directly next to his. If I was visible and his dog was out, I was being barked at. Trash from the camp host's site blew into mine several times, and I had to pick it up. On my first evening there, he made sure I was aware that alcohol was not allowed (not a problem for me one way or the other), but then he proceeded to smoke weed every night. I'm a live and let live person, so if he wants to smoke whatever, but I don't smoke, and it smelled terrible. I ended up vacating my site early because it was so unpleasant camping near him and his dog.

This is our first ever reservation at an Army Corps of Engineers Campground. BEAUTIFUL and peaceful with stunning sunsets! The area is very well kept and has clean facilities . Sites are spacious and with a covered picnic table and fire grilling pit. All of the staff Volunteers are so friendly and helpful on-site, thank you! Lots of wild life around, loved the turtles! Fun to see the boat traffic going thru the locks. Really enjoying our stay, wish we discovered it years ago! 🐢

This is one of the best COE campgrounds we have ever visited. The site we had was #24. What a view!! Watching the boats go through the locks, people fishing, birds, a gator, turtles; wildlife at it’s finest. Met some wonderful people. Clean restrooms and friendly camp hosts. If you can get a reservation here, take it!

W.P. Franklin North Campground is a hidden gem on the Caloosahatchee River! The sites are super clean, leveled concrete, and most offer gorgeous waterfront views—perfect for relaxing or watching boats pass through the lock. The staff and volunteers are friendly and keep the facilities spotless, especially the bathrooms and showers. We loved kayaking and fishing right from the campground, and the sunsets are absolutely stunning. A few sites are tight for larger RVs, so check the size limits when booking. No sewer hookups, but the dump station is convenient. Just a short drive to Fort Myers for shopping or beaches. Highly recommend this peaceful spot for a quiet getaway

Stayed at this campground while visiting family. A beautiful campground , but the experience was less than pleasant because of the overbearing attitude of the host (starts with A). He constantly stopped me on his golf cart rounds and insinuated multiple times that I had not locked the gate (this when there were many people that arrived later). Followed me several times and then waited by the gate in the dark when I was out walking. Drove his golf cart on to my site without invitation multiple times. This ttention was unprofessional and unwanted. Cats should not be in the campground, they stress the migratory birds, rabbits and squirrels.

First trip and loved it. This campground is for those who want quiet and scenic beauty, not for those looking for pools and tiki huts. Can fish. All sites are waterfront, well designed. Very well kept. Close to Fort Myers. Staff very friendly. We will be back. Pics are out our camper door on site 4
