I give it a 5 star rating because when something is free, you can’t complain. The place is absolutely gorgeous and we put up the tent just by the river in hot July where we had “ice bath” 5 times a day. Loved it. Only drawback is the toilets. They smell horrible and full of flies. We did like the Bears, although that is probably not allowed.

This is a great spot, very close to the highway. One of BC’s many ‘rec’ sites meaning, no reservations and often no fees. Pit toilets are available, but that is it for amenities. Waitabit is probably better for smaller rigs, but there is a large open are to the left when you come in suitable for larger trailers. I’ll be back to Waitabit, a classic BC rec site!

Ohmygoddess what a beautiful rec campsite! Right beside the river which was a quite lulling to hear 💦 Outhouses were immaculate, but remember to bring the TP as nothing is supplied. You pack it in, you pack it out. Ground can be a little uneven lolol. We didn't get a site near the water, so come early if you can to get one and be mindful of pets and kids around the river, it is fast.

This location is perfect from the highway. A gravel road after the town but a good gravel road that is not too long. The free campsite was full of "locals". Not many choices of campsites as it seems people don't leave. We were in a 5th wheel and were able to get a spot but by the road. Neighbours were nice enough to let us enjoy their riverside campsite to sit by the river. Campground was clean and friendly.

Absolutely beautiful place, snow peaked mountains in the background when you sit facing the river of green water, so relaxing here. There's a constant white noise of the river which we loved as it drowns out most noise of other campers. We did have our puppy along, as did other folks so as long as the dogs are on a leash it works great. Beautiful little humminbirds came to say hi every morning, and the mosquitoes weren't bad at all. Campsite has no hook ups but does have clean out houses and firepits. I did see a few fallen trees for firewood but you would need a chainsaw or bring wood along. If you're looking for a beautiful, quiet place to camp this is it!
