For Ohio residents exploring various camping options, whether for a temporary stop during work or a longer-term stay, Walnut Lake Campgrounds in Washington Court House, Ohio, presents itself as a choice in the local landscape. It's important for potential visitors to gain a clear and factual understanding of what to expect from this establishment, as experiences can vary significantly depending on individual needs and expectations for a campground.
Walnut Lake Campgrounds caters primarily to a functional camping need, often serving those who require a base for work-related stays or longer-term residence in their RVs. It offers the fundamental aspects of a campground, providing space for campers to set up their units. While it may not boast the extensive recreational facilities or polished aesthetics of some resort-style campgrounds, its utility lies in offering a place to stay with essential hookups. For locals considering this location, understanding its practical orientation is key to determining if it aligns with their specific camping requirements in the heart of Ohio.
Walnut Lake Campgrounds is situated at 9800 State Rte 41, Washington Court House, OH 43160, USA. This address places it along a state route, indicating a location that is generally accessible by vehicle. Washington Court House is a community in Fayette County, Ohio, positioned within a reasonable driving distance from larger metropolitan areas in the state, such as Columbus and Cincinnati, though it is certainly in a more rural setting. The ease of reaching the campground via State Route 41 is a practical advantage for those traveling with RVs or trailers, as it typically avoids overly complex navigation through residential areas.
However, accessibility is not just about reaching the destination. For Walnut Lake Campgrounds, public feedback suggests that the internal road conditions within the campground itself can present a significant challenge. Reviews indicate that the roads leading to campsites may be in a state of disrepair, with "potholes big enough to lose a small car in." This could necessitate vehicles, particularly trucks pulling campers, to engage 4-wheel drive, which is a crucial detail for potential visitors to consider for their vehicle's capability and personal comfort. Additionally, the campground's proximity to a "busy road" and the occasional "loud train whistle" suggests that while it is geographically accessible, a quiet, secluded atmosphere may not be its strongest feature. This combination of external accessibility and internal condition should be weighed carefully by anyone planning a stay at Walnut Lake Campgrounds.

This place is HORRIBLE!! My boyfriend was staying there for work, and I promise you we had to put the truck in 4-wheel drive just to get to our camper. The road in and out has pot holes big enough to lose a small car in!! The lady is rude and they left the black water tanks u emptied for over two weeks!! The tent is sky high for the conditions of this place!! Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else!!
Walnut lake campground LLC brings in over $35,000 a month from her campers and can't even upkeep the campground and her equipment. Neglecting her campers as well as depriving them of quality of life. Very unprofessional and rude. Way to go Stacy Everhart.
The campground is ok but I have never stayed or visited a campground that the so-called host (curly, red head) that approached me and was rude that i was driving over 5mph which i wasn't. I was out of town and had no idea who she was and why she needed to ask questions. I also figured that it was because my friend and I (girls) were visiting my cousin (guy) that was staying there for work and paying rent but thought we were trouble and had to know where we were going. After that experience, my cousin is going to stay somewhere else.
Our company had several crew members stay here for several months while building Transmission Powerlines for Honda Battery Plant. Stacey made our experience a great one. I definitely didn't mind calling this place home when I was away from home. Loved the outdoorsy feel and really enjoyed the lake view while relaxing on my days off. Way, way better than staying at a hotel. Definitely got lucky finding this campground!
