This is a great camp spot. Usually these parking lot type places are only good for Glampers and people sleeping in cars but this offers real serenity and a degree of privacy in its secluded campsites. Perfect for a hammock tent getaway. Unfortunately the well system is currently down but it is a short trip to town to fill bottles. Current rate is 6.00 /night which is very reasonable for a quiet night and fairly clean outdoor toilets. There are a LOT of flies at this mid August time so you might want to prepare with some bug spray.
Stopped in late, about 9 pm. Found a nice empty lot beside two bathrooms and settled in for the night. It was pretty quiet aside from train horns occasionally and a quad or something late in the night. Explored the woods a bit the next morning and it was beautiful even with the burnt trees around. Bathrooms were clean enough and had toilet paper. The fee booth is right at the front, simple process.
Free camping and free RV dump station. No water yet. Has fire ring and picnic table. Very few camper and very large parking lot/area. Quiet place.
Great place to camp for the summer months! Can find some nice tent spots that are not in the parking lot. If you have a big rig, you’ll have more than enough room. Pit toilets were clean too and had water! We have a rooftop tent on our Jeep and found the perfect spot driving up the lane on site 2 that was level!
This was a lucky find for us. Two big parking lots where you could park at least 30 rigs if you really had to. Colder due to the higher elevation, but great spot you can walk the Nordic routes. Entry road a bit bumpy but manageable, good for big rigs also.
