Wanda’s KK R.V. Park Introduce
Introduction / Overview
For Texans traveling through the East Texas region, particularly the Longview area, Wanda’s KK R.V. Park is known in local circles as a straightforward, functional campground. In the dynamic landscape of Texas RV parks—which range from luxury resorts to basic overnight spots—Wanda’s appears to cater to the budget-conscious traveler or those needing a quick, simple layover rather than a destination stay. The facility offers a no-frills approach to RV accommodation, focusing on providing the most basic necessities for a stopover while on the road. The property is located in a rural setting outside the immediate hustle of Longview, allowing for a degree of quiet that is appreciated by many travelers.
It is important for prospective guests—especially those accustomed to full-service luxury resorts—to manage expectations. Based on public feedback, Wanda’s KK R.V. Park is best viewed as a basic, utilitarian stop. Customer reviews indicate the environment is simple, with some travelers describing the conditions as rough, with potential issues regarding maintenance and general cleanliness. For instance, one user review explicitly mentioned the presence of old abandoned RVs, sloppy and muddy conditions, and non-functional sewer systems, leading them to describe the location as a "dump" with "garbage everywhere." This feedback suggests that the park's primary offering is a spot to park an RV with basic connections, suitable for an overnight necessity, particularly when traveling late or on a tight budget.
As an East Texas campground, its value proposition is simplicity and affordability, making it a functional option for travelers who prioritize proximity to their route over extensive amenities and manicured grounds. This park serves a specific need in the Longview market, mainly for transient workers or those passing through.
Location and Accessibility
The location of Wanda’s KK R.V. Park places it in the geographical area of Longview, Texas. The official address is:
15229 Farm to Market 968 W, Longview, TX 75602, USA
The location on Farm to Market Road 968 West (FM 968 W) indicates it is situated in a more rural or semi-rural part of the Longview area, likely requiring a short drive from major interstate highways like Interstate 20 (I-20). FM roads in Texas often provide direct routes between smaller communities and state highways, which makes this campground accessible for RVs navigating the region.
Longview itself is a key city in East Texas, often referred to as the "Balloon Race Capital of Texas" and known for its industrial and oil history. Being near Longview means that essential services—including grocery stores, gas stations, repair shops, and medical facilities—are generally accessible, though guests should factor in the time needed to drive from the park's FM 968 location to the main commercial corridors of the city. The park's rural placement offers an escape from immediate city noise, but travelers should be aware that their arrival experience may be complicated by rough ground and poor visibility, as suggested by the customer who "stopped late, after dark after a long trip from Colorado." Accessibility, therefore, is primarily by vehicle on an FM road, and the internal conditions of the park may challenge ease of movement for large rigs.
Services Offered
As a basic RV park, the services offered at Wanda’s KK R.V. Park are understood to be focused on core utility connections essential for RV operation. Based on the fundamental nature of the business and the provided public information, the expected services would include:
- RV Sites with Hook-Ups: The primary service is providing designated sites for RV parking, which typically include electrical hookups (likely 30-amp and/or 50-amp) and water service.
 - Sewer Connection Potential: Like most RV parks, sewer connections are typically offered at full hook-up sites. However, the user review specifically cites that the sewer system is non-functional, suggesting guests should verify the status of this critical service before booking, particularly for extended stays.
 - Basic Overnight/Short-Term Parking: The park's utility aligns best with travelers needing a place to sleep and connect to power for a single night or a very brief period while passing through East Texas.

Given the negative review highlighting poor maintenance (garbage, muddy/rough ground, and non-functional sewer), it is prudent for Texas users to assume that modern amenities like Wi-Fi, cable TV, or updated laundry facilities may not be reliably available or may not meet contemporary standards. The park seems to represent the most basic level of service in the RV campground category.
Features / Highlights
Identifying "highlights" at Wanda’s KK R.V. Park requires focusing on the features that appeal to a specific niche of traveler, particularly in light of the highly critical customer feedback. The primary features of this park are its position and pricing:
- Affordable Pricing: Parks with minimal amenities and maintenance challenges typically offer highly competitive and affordable rates, making it an option for budget-restricted travelers who view cost as the most important factor.
 - East Texas Location: Its proximity to Longview and its position near FM 968 W make it a functional stop for travelers whose route dictates a stop in this specific area.
 - Rural Quiet: Located off the main traffic arteries, the park offers a setting that is generally quieter than campgrounds situated immediately next to an interstate or major highway.
 - Availability for Late Arrivals: As the user review indicates, the park may allow for late-night or after-hours stopping, which is a crucial feature for drivers covering long distances across Texas.

The potential for a less-than-ideal site condition, including sloppy, muddy, and rough ground, is a significant factor that Texans must weigh against the affordable pricing structure. The visual appeal may also be compromised by old abandoned RVs and visible garbage.
Contact Information
Direct and verifiable contact information beyond the physical address for Wanda’s KK R.V. Park is not readily available through standard public search platforms, which often indicates a small, locally managed operation with a limited online presence.
Address: 15229 Farm to Market 968 W, Longview, TX 75602, USA
Phone: Guests are strongly advised to perform a targeted local search for "Wanda’s KK R.V. Park Longview TX phone number" before arrival. It is highly recommended to call ahead to confirm availability, current rates, and—most crucially—the operational status of key services, such as water, electricity, and the sewer system, especially in light of the negative public feedback regarding non-functional sewer service.
What is Worth Choosing
Choosing Wanda’s KK R.V. Park is a decision that should be made by a specific subset of the Texas RV community. This park is only worth considering for the traveler whose absolute highest priority is finding the most inexpensive overnight spot in the Longview, TX area, or for those who find themselves needing a late-night, last-resort stopover and whose schedule cannot accommodate driving to a different facility.
The primary factors that might make this park "worth choosing" are its low cost and its function as a simple, utilitarian stop near the FM 968 corridor. It is explicitly not recommended for family vacations, destination camping, or any stay exceeding a single night where comfort and full amenity functionality are expected. The pervasive negative feedback regarding cleanliness, ground condition, and non-functional sewer systems (a literal dump, sloppy, muddy, rough ground, garbage everywhere, sewer non-functional) presents a clear picture that the park’s operational standards are very low.
Texans seeking a comfortable, clean, or secure long-term stay should explore the numerous other, more positively reviewed RV parks in the Longview and East Texas region. However, if your travels bring you through late at night, you are driving on a minimal budget, and you are fully self-contained (meaning you do not need to rely on the park’s sewer or restroom facilities), Wanda’s KK R.V. Park may serve the narrow function of a basic pull-over point. Due diligence and verification of site conditions upon arrival are absolutely essential for any prospective guest.
