Wanderland Camping

Such a beautiful place! So much privacy per campsite that you felt solitude and peace. To have such attractively appointed tents on platforms, (with shelves and an ice chest) a personal privy PLUS a clean new bath house was a camping luxury! Kudos to the owners for this new concept of camping—- still rustic( not “glamping) but a big step up from my usual backcountry experience! Bring a backpack so you can easily handle the short, somewhat steep hike in. You won’t want to leave!

My group and I had an incredible experience at Wanderland Campground! The surroundings were absolutely breathtaking, with lush greenery as far as the eye could see. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the tent we stayed in comfortably fit all six of us. Oh, and let me tell you about the bath house – it was simply stunning! Jonathan and his team were incredibly supportive and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Trust me when I say that this place is an absolute gem and should be on everyone's must-visit list!

All I can say is wow! This place is absolutely beautiful, scenic, and peaceful. But even past the natural beauty of this campground is the level of workmanship, aesthetic detailing, and thoughtfulness behind every amenity they provided. Wanderland definitely lends the rustic camping experience one is looking for but I cannot overlook that it still feels like a "glamping experience". From the Safari style tents, outfitted with full-size beds, end tables, storage cabinets, closet space, an empty CLEAN cooler ready to receive your food and snacks to the additional high-end bed cots and camping chairs they include for your comfort, they’ve simply thought of everything. One can also appreciate and tell everything on-site is of grade-A outdoor quality. Aesthetic: We stayed at Site #1 and it was truly a beauty with a gorgeous natural wood deck with 2 beautiful sliding rocking chairs, turf for comfort, citronella candle full ready to light, and more. With rugs, beautiful bedding, and a plush accent chair included not only was everything functional but it was also cozy like one feels at a high-end cabin rental. The site also had a fire pit, charcoal grill, picnic tables, beautiful woven hammocks and more. They even thought of ease of navigation on their beautiful trails complete with solar lights to help you stay on course. Amenities: As if their campsite wasn't enough their bathhouse was truly one of my favorite amenities. First off let me mention, EVERYTHING was super clean at the campsite including the restroom. Shower was amazing with full on water pressure and hot water! #IYKYK hot showers are a luxury when camping so I really appreciated the ability to wash off the day with a hot shower. Virtually no bugs present in the bathroom which made this a comfortable experience. The restroom boasting of 2 skylights gave you the feel of being outdoors without the outdoor critters! They even have a water fountain stationed at the bathhouse to fill up your water bottles so that's one less thing for one to purchase because who wants to lug a 24pk of water to their campsite. Convenience: Wanderland is close to everything too! 25 minutes from commercial stores like Walmart, Home Depot, groceries and local BBQ spots. 25 minutes from Chattanooga, less than 15 minutes from Rock City, 15 minutes to the nearest horseback riding stable, and 10 minutes to Cloudland Canyon. Wanderland Camping is truly the perfect campsite for beginners and advanced campers while their amenities make their motto ring true that “Camping is for everyone”. WE LOVE IT HERE, already planning our return. Thank you Wanderland!

This past summer I had the unique opportunity to experience something unlike anything else I’ve had the pleasure of being a part of. The Wanderland Melody Music Festival was an event I think all Wanderers should experience. Amazing artists, food, wilderness and great vibes turned the forest into a stage that may as well have been its own little planet. I could go on and on about the minor details but I think you’d better just see for yourself. 10/10 recommend.

On August 19th, I attended the Melody at Wanderland Music Festival at Wanderland Campground. I had not gone camping since I was a girl scout over 30 years ago, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Jonathan Weston, the owner of Wanderland Campground. He was enthusiastic, kind, and very informative. The grounds were absolutely gorgeous!! There were various paths that could be taken to navigate the grounds. We were housed at site 2, which was near a brook. We had a swing, a hammock, and a fire pit. The tent was HUGE, and Jonathan was kind enough to provide us with cots. As a person who suffers from panic disorder, it was an ideal environment - very serene and quite beautiful. The sounds of nature helped me sleep like a baby. I woke up the following day feeling rejuvenated. I never considered including camping in my mental wellness toolkit; however, my experience at Wanderland Campground reminded me that being surrounded by nature is sometimes just as good as medicine. I'll definitely be going back!

Meeting and speaking with Jonathan was great! He was very informative and I enjoyed hearing about his vision. The accommodations were accurate and the surroundings are beautiful. A great place to rough it in comfort.
