Stayed for 2 nights on the touring site in a motorhome. Reception staff were extremely helpful and the toilet/showering facilities were modern, clean and tidy. There is a lovely bar and restaurant on site and although a little expensive, it was again modern, clean and comfortable. The food was well prepared, well presented and tasty, although the portion sizes were huge, which might explain the pricing! Would certainly return if in the area again.
Stayed for 3 nights in a gold deluxe caravan. Site is in a lovely setting, especially liked the nature trail and play areas. Caravans clean and modern. Site was busy when we first arrived but much quieter last couple of days at end of August. Ate one night in the Witch and Worm, very generous portions and friendly staff. Games room could do with a revamp as quite a few things weren't working that well. Site very well located for Bamburgh, Seahouses.
Had 7 nights here on a tent pitch and really enjoyed it. The location is just beautiful & the nearby towns such as Bamburgh just as lovely. The site was very busy but the toilets and shower blocks were always clean. There is a bar and restaurant on site, a really well stocked shop that's reasonably priced, a pool and 2 parks. The most stunning beaches within walking distance, the nicest I've personally seen in England. The warden came round at 11 to let everyone know it was time to quieten down, so night time noise wasn't an issue. We really enjoyed our stay.
When we arrived at this site we were very impressed. The staff were all lovely, site and facilities were clean and well thought out. I especially liked the family rooms for showering, didn’t use them myself as son is old enough now to shower by himself but have memories of trying to shower a squirming sandy toddler in a 2ft by 4ft cubicle. Also the pot washing and laundrette facilities were good. Shop was handy, I didn’t think it was too highly priced considering, bar and pool also very nice and clean etc. The only reason I can’t give this place 5* is the noise. I realise it’s school summer hols and very busy. I’ve no problem with general noise of people chatting and kids playing but can see no reason why a campsite would allow a large group of people to play loud rave music pretty much non stop all afternoon right up to the 11pm curfew. Ok, the wardens enforced the 11pm cut off for noise but they need to be stricter on loud music or whatever before this. It is stated on the site rules leaflet we are all given when we book in that noise should be at a minimum at all times. It might be an idea to not allow radios etc after 10pm as 11pm is late, especially when you have young children trying to sleep. At quieter times though this site can’t really be beaten in terms of its location. It’s absolutely beautiful.
Good points, very clean toilets and showers lovely hot water which is a definite plus in the adult section very friendly staff. Bad points, we booked onto a premium adult area, pitch was right next to the road pitch 1, definitely not the quiet we expected or were told to expect at time of booking. The area around the pitch was very noisy, from people, kids on bikes, the play area behind us and vehicles parking next to the van where the sales area was. Given the cost of the pitch we have been on better sites for a lot less. The shop is really expensive which again disappointing. The area is beautiful but we will not be back to this site, does not deliver on what we were told.
