We floated from about a quarter mile above the campsite down around the band and back to the campsite. It was a fun float that took about an hour. We were on paddleboard‘s and had a lot of fun. That far away from you it is very slow moving water. The wind was almost pushing us back up stream. Where we did the water was generally about 3 feet deep in most areas. In some areas it is a little bit deeper. There were a lot of little kids floating with their families. It seems like a safe place to take kids.
Really nice campground with decently spaced out campsites. Beautiful spot right along the river. During the day lots of cars come and go as people float the river but it’s pretty quiet at night. The only downside is that the bathroom is absolutely horrendous! Bags of poop cover the floor and it looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in months.
This is a hidden gem where you can float the Henry's Fork of the Snake River! Because of the winding path of the river, it gives you a perfect float around the peninsula then you can get out and walk a quarter of a mile down the road and do it again. The float takes about an hour and the water is shallow enough for kids to stand up in many places. Plus, the slow flow of the river allows you to enjoy the beauty of the river as you float, paddle, or swim the slough. So grab your tube, kayack, paddle board, or whatever and come float warm slough. Oh and...probably best to try during the warm months ;)
We camped here and it was so nice! There was no need for reservations ahead of time and still plenty of places to settle down in. Lots of built in fore places. Great place to float and swim. Clean bathrooms!
Cool access to the river but the camping area was so gross. The bathroom was filthy and unusable. In the woods around the actual campsites had human feces all over. Left as fast as we could.
