We stayed at Wasatch State Park we found the park and area to be beautiful!! The park is very well maintained, restrooms were new and very clean as the grounds. It’s near where the Winter Olympics had cross country skiing and other events. Two award winning golf course are just up the hill from camp. Along with horseback riding everyday and breath taking views of surrounding area. It is well worth a visit if you are traveling near here. It’s just a few miles out of Heber City Utah. Wonderful place!! Very dog friendly park also many trails to walk that the Olympic skiers took. Don’t miss this park!!

Wasatch Mountain State Park is a fantastic spot for runners and walkers. The trails offer beautiful views of the valley. While there are some steep climbs, you can find long stretches of relatively flat trail after a short ascent. It’s best to visit at 6:30 AM in the summer when it’s around 50 degrees, and the sun is just starting to break through.

We camped at Pine Creek Campground. This place has a lot of shades and trees help creating privacy between campsites which is a huge plus, compared to many other campgrounds nearby SLC area. This makes the site a bit cooler. We went during the Independence day and it was still quite cold at night. They have a picnic table, fire ring, and grill. Then tent pad was enough to fit 2 4-to-6-person tents next to each other (we were lucky because I have seen other camp sites which have smaller tent pad and definitely won’t fit our two tents. There is running water at the site which is a huge plus for cleaning. The campsite was clean and there is a flush toilet nearby which was also clean. There was no shower but was ok for us since we only stayed for a night. There are several small trails that I can walk my two small pups. No bugs or anything that bothered us while we were there. The only downside (for someone; but could be a plus for others) is that there is no phone signal. I should have downloaded musics before going! We got lost on the way to the campsite because there was no clear sign at the state park’s entrance (something to improve there—add directions sign please). There were two forks: go straight or turn right. We decided to go straight but ended up on dirt road going up the mountain. Fortunately, we decided to tun around to find the phone signal so we can go to “Pine Creek Campsite” rather than just “Wasatch Mountain State Park”. Once we made the right (literally) turn, everything was good onward—there were signs to get there. Many nice houses and good scenery to see on the ride. Will definitely comeback as this goes down as my new favorite campground.

Beautiful and quiet location in a small camping area next to the lake. Dark night sky due to no nearby cities provides excellent stargazing. Very clean vault toilets and community water spigots every 4-5 campsites. However, the mosquitos and black flies are tenacious! Also, it's good to know that there's an almost 2 mile non-paved gravel road that may be difficult g to travel in inclement weather.
