Beautiful beach and lakeside trail on gorgeous Lake Minneola. I like coming here in the morning, you will mostly have the whole beach to yourself, birds everywhere. In just 30 minutes of walking around I saw a pair of hawks and at least a dozen native shorebird and water species. Ducks, egrets, herons, ibis and migratory species are abundant. The piers have unfortunately been destroyed by the recent hurricane, however the shoreline is still accessible for fishing. Easy walkable trail from the boat launch to Victory Pointe and downtown, very glad to have so much public space to enjoy Clermont outdoors.
I give 4 stars because I once lived here 40 years ago and I appreciate going back to places years later and seeing the things that resonate with my memory. All gone. But very much improved. The lake is clean. The 1970s to the 1990s it smelled of boat oil due to massive recreational use. Amazing improvement. The walk is lovely, scenic, and offers something for kids, parents, couples, and even us "elderly" folks. The "eco" walk (Victory Pointe) was educational and also offers a bit of history about the old buildings in that area. One building, if memory serves correctly, with the old train loading dock doors facing away from the lake, is the old Blue Goose Growers facility. That building was not identified. The city archives could provide the correct information about that. Very enjoyable, very safe.
It was a nice park to visit while we were in town. The 1st week in June is when we went & the playground area was being worked on so my kids couldn't enjoy it. The beach was very nice. All around a nice place to go with family & friends to have fun. Nice area & even has a splash pad & trail.
