A first come first serve campground that has all the things you need. One day I wanted to go have a bonfire with some friends and this was the perfect place to go just to be able to bbq and have a nice campfire out in nature. We were also easily able to go to nearby locations to swim in the lake. Most of the time it’s pretty empty considering no one was there when we went. It can be pretty steep and some of the zones are up hill but it’s pretty and well kept.
The sites are pretty close together so there isn't a lot of privacy. 4 stars because of the proximity to some amazing places. We were able to hang out at a few different river spots within 15 minutes of here. We drove about 45 minutes south and hiked part of the Pacific Crest trail.
No running water and outhouse toilets make this camping pretty rough. You can purchase water at the store for a ridiculous price but when you're cooking or cleaning with it, why would you want to? Stock up on gallons before you come!
Even though the campground was closed, my friend & I were able to park at the gate & walk in have lunch @ a picnic table.
Dry camping, at the end of the road. Will probably be popular this summer. Takes the discount passes, senior, disabled....
