⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Watkins Glen State Park in the fall is absolutely magical! The vibrant autumn colors combined with the misty waterfalls create a scene that feels straight out of a fairy tale. Well-maintained trails, allowing you to get close to the waterfalls and rock formations, and each turn seems to reveal another breathtaking view. The cascading falls, with their mystical mist, are even more stunning surrounded by the golden, red, and orange leaves. This park is truly a must-visit in the fall for anyone who loves nature, photography, or just wants a peaceful retreat in a gorgeous setting. Highly recommend it.
Watkins Glen State Park is a gorgeous state park. The trails takes you through breathtaking scenery and waterfalls. Very picturesque landscape around every corner.lots of stone steps and stone bridges. The trails were nice, maybe a little steep in places. Nice and clean bathrooms too. I must have visited on a abnormally busy day. Felt like hiking in a line. It was very hard to move because there were so many people in the gorgeous part of the trails. I think this place would benefit from reservations like some other state parks and National parks are starting to implement. It was a little harder to enjoy with the amount of visitors that were there. But overall a beautiful park with lots of sights. Definatley recommend a visit to this state park.
The trail offered breathtaking scenery. It has three parking areas - south, main, and upper. If you park in the south or main lots, be prepared to climb 800 steps on the Gorge Trail to reach the upper lot. Otherwise, park upper and descend to the main area, then take the shuttle back. The shuttle links the three lots, operating on weekends from Memorial Day to Independence Day, then daily until Labor Day, and weekends until mid-October. Upper and main entrance having gift shop and food.
A very beautiful place to visit in the fall. The Gorge Trail is very picturesque and has 19 different waterfalls. The hike isn’t that difficult but I could see it being hard for those with mobility issues, older people, or those hiking in the heat. It is very congested though, so be ready to deal with crowds of nice people, rude people, and everything in between. It’s very popular for good reason - it’s stunning.
Absolutely incredible park!! Very busy on the Gorge Trail so choose your time wisely. An incredible scene every few steps. Most of the significant features are in the first mile of the Gorge Trail starting from the southern end of the
