My wife and I had an amazing time at Wekiwa Springs State Park. The park is beautiful, with plenty of parking, fresh swimming areas, and options for canoeing or kayaking. You can rent gear, but be sure to get there before 2:30 PM, as rentals close then, and return them by 5 PM (4:30 PM in winter). We did spot some alligators along the water's edge, but as long as you leave them alone, they won’t bother you. The entrance fee is only $6 per car, which is a great deal for such a wonderful outdoor experience. Highly recommend!
Excellent park for recreation, rest, contact with nature, camping, sports activities. I loved it, and I intend to return more often. Congratulations to the collaborators and the administration.
Love this campground. The sites are big and level and even though ours was not paved or gravel it was well packed down and very nice #47is where we stayed. Bathrooms are centrally located from all sites. Plan on seeing deer as well along the trails. Very clean
Just finished our second stay at this absolutely spectacular state park. Whether you're coming or day you're going to the Spring or camping like we did, you will enjoy yourself! Staff is super pleasant to deal with & volunteer campground hosts really nice people. Highly recommend! And if you are camping, make time to take a drive through the park at dusk. Deer and other wildlife are abundant.
Wonderful place located so close to Orlando. Large natural spring that can accommodate lots of people but come early because it was closed around 10am due to high volume of people. Clean restrooms, wonderful hiking trails, lots and lots of canoes and kayaks to rent for 2 hours or more or even overnight for a great adventure. Water temp is a constant 72 degrees which makes cooling down wonderful after hiking a few miles on some wonderful trails. Bring your horse because there are trails for them. Great small campground that offers water and electric and all sites, some with sewer too. Lots of wildlife so be cautious of bears, gators and snakes (I didn't see any for the couple of days but lots of deer.
