My fiancé and I have vacationed a lot, and Welaka Lodge felt like home. The staff was first-class. Will was on top of everything. We were there during a storm and lost power, and Will and the staff immediately started the generators. We stayed in unit 17, and the king-size bed was unbelievable – the best sleep I've had in years. The units are spotless and almost new, with a big grill, hot tub, and comfortable outdoor furniture. The pool and bar are nice and clean. The live music was great (I'm a guitarist). They catered to us, and we felt like family. We even stayed a few extra days. If you want a getaway with great food, friendly staff, great prices, and unbelievable views, this is the place! We're planning to return very soon.
Very nice. The bar and docks have been expanded and are more comfortable. Service was good, even though it was busy. The food was delicious and came out quickly. We were just day-tripping and didn't stay in a room. The steps are much better than trying to navigate the bare hill to the bar and docks, but they're still pretty steep.
I came down for the Toy Run and stayed here for the first time. I was so impressed! The dockage, boat bar, pool, and cottages are all great.
We've been to Welaka Lodge many times. This time, we stayed at their off-property location, Flamingo Court. It's a great option with an incredible view, a full kitchen, a washer/dryer, and two full-size bedrooms and bathrooms. I highly recommend it!
We just went for a sunset beer. The setup is pretty cool, right above the St. Johns River. It's a little tucked away, but fun.
